Opportunity.

Trying to win over an influential gaming forum is a good move. It's chess.

E3 just fucked up pretty bad.

Gaming news has become NeoGaf.

And it didn't took long for MS to hijack this opportunity.

They're not as anti xbox as you think they are. Although Sony do outnumber them, But sony fans outnumber xbox fans all over the internet. Not just gaf.

Nice move by Microsoft. Neogaf can't be bought off(people have tried) so they can't be expecting much in return.

TC can you find an article talking about the topic in the OP? I'm talking about the neogaf getting rejected part of the OP.It's usually not a good idea to link info from another forum on SW. In my opinion from reading what other gaf members have to say about the site the site is decent, but has issues.I'm also a member of that site, but I don't post much.

In the link i posted in the OP as the source. The thread was created by Evilore who is the owner of NeoGAF (link: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showgroups.php)

his post was copy and pasted from the rejection email he received from E3 stating
"Your company does not appear to be an active media outlet with ongoing coverage of the Interactive Entertainment Industry and as a result you do not qualify for a media badge. If you are still interested in attending E3 2014, you may qualify for a paid admission."
I would think that is more then enough proof. But if you don't find it to be. Let me know and i'll try and find something else

That makes sense. You would think there'd be a little leeway available for such a well-known forum, with the impact that GAF has.

Apparently they changed the rules for who exactly can get in.

According to emails I was sent, game dev students used to be able to attend with no problem. Now we can't get in either. This is important because typically, any type of survey or testing session that requires an NDA that isn't a large scale beta or similar event asks whether the participant is a game developer, a member of the media, or a game development student. Usually these all equally lock potential participants out of these events.

It seems to me like the ESA used to follow the same type of categories for determining E3 entry, but as of this year they've made a new set of rules.

That is so true it hurts. Like 99% of rumors and most controversial news are always stolen by the media from some Neogaf thread. XD

lol I can't believe people can't see this. It's obviously a calculated move given that neogaf members have been ripping into Microsoft for the past year. This is a way to get good rep back, last time they tried hiring pr firms to post on neogaf praising xbox one. lmfao

I saw Yahoo, Forbes, IGN & other major gaming sites reporting the Project Beast rumor and linking to Neogaf and mentioning Demonite when the news erupted.

I remember back in 2006 when PS3 was as hated and ridiculed on GAF as XB1 is now. Fanboys see what they want to see. All this claim of sony bribery and conspiracy talk is stupid and actually quite creepy. Xbox is quite simply disappointing trash and the gaming community at large agrees, hence why forums hate on it. PS3 was disappointing that first year or two and so the forums hated on that too. Systemwars itself was massively anti-sony back in those days.

People just can't accept that a lot of people may not like their console.
