It might be. Will wait for confirmation.

VERY unlikely.
Unlike all of the Indie Developers starting to cancel their Wii U versions of games now, Nintendo is TOO far along with the Wii U version.
No way Nintendo would alienate even the tiny userbase they have on the platform to force people to buy a new device for the game.
That'd be hilarious if it was true, even though I highly doubt it since the Game Awards trailer had Wii U in it at the end. It would definitely be a huge slap in the face for Wii U owners.
@bowserjr123: Not only that, but the Wii U version has been in development for nearly 4 years if not longer. It's more believable that Breath of the Wild for Switch will not make the Switch Launch.

Yep true that, I didn't even mention the fact that every time it's been showcased has been on the Wii U. As the days pass, I'm definitely doubting that it will make Switch's launch, which could be a good thing so it doesn't steal the new 3D Mario's thunder.
@LegatoSkyheart: They released that afterward and it offered a unique experience and still had strong base due to the $99 Gamcube Bundle. Also remember Wii's were hard to get.
If Nintendo wanted to send a clear message that theyre done with Wii/Wii U...canceling Breath of the Wild would be a clear as day message.
I was probably going to get it in Switch anyways, but that's a pretty shit move if true.
I hope this is fake ass click bait and I am refusing to look at the sauce, all N4G does anyhow is link to other sites anyways, could be some amateur Bulgarian blog fire bombing for page hits for all I know.
Highly unlikely, since the only version they have shown so far barring the Jimmy Fallon showing was the Wii U one.
Lol, this is the original source.
Yeah, okay, sure seems legit.
omg "LEGIT SOURCE FROM BOARD MEETING!"
It's a picture of the corner of a piece of printed paper with Japanese text on it. TOTALLY LEGIT /s
Its possible due to the potential of low sales.
Isn't it almost finished? If I was them I'd take a minor financial hit rather than reminding people they kinda abandoned the WiiU.
Doesn't really matter to me either way unless the switch is like $400 CDN b/c I'll buy it almost 100% guaranteed if it costs less.
Plus I'm more interested in another Nintendo character. You know the one I mean.
This news has to be false. The people who have the Wii U really want this game. Move along everyone.
It's not being cancelled for Wii U. Let's play, the vid was the Wii U version, E3 was the Wii U version. The only time we actually saw the Switch, was like a week ago and the game is pretty much done. Hell if Xenoblade X was able to run on the Wii U, Breath of the Wild has no excuse, don't believe that one bit.

I think theyre prepared to take a hit. Basically use Zelda to finish off the remaining Wii U stock in stores and used ones on their site.
Arent exclusives what gives a system its identity (LMAO)? All I'm reading here is how uncool it would be for Nintendo to make BotW a Switch exclusive.

So what your saying is the Wii U version of Zelda will be the final Wii U game of 2017?
@koko-goal: Fanboys,
Wii U sucks, release a new console.
"Nintendo releases new console."
What!?! Nintendo released a new console, wtf Nintendo. Nintendo has gone crazy and abandoned gamers. Wannnn!

A new console, not WiiU with two taped toasters on top of it. There are no companies in the world that advances as slow as Nintendo.
What's funny is that though this seems wholly illogical that Nintendo would do that, given they have 30 million wiiu's in the wild to sell their biggest game, there isn't a person alive who would put it past Nintendo to do something so befuddling....

Research in Motion is a close second though.
Nintendo can raise the GPU speed by 0.1GHz and the fans will go wild. "Major upgrade from Nintendo" "Nintendo revolutionizes again" "Nintendo focus on gaming is further proven by the bump in clock speed."

Funny considering Sony and Microsoft love using Nintendo's implementations so much.

Yes, they do, they enjoy gimmicks as well, lures in the soccer moms and non gamers. The difference is that you have access to quality third party on sony/ms while you ain't getting anything on Nintendo.
@silversix_: My 3DS has plenty. You cant rush excellence. Who cares if Justin Beiber makes more CDs than Jack White. Jack is amazing. But enjoy them mature dudebro games. Make us proud.
@silversix_: My 3DS has plenty.
much lesser than DS. Why are you hiding behind a handheld? We talking about consoles here.
@silversix_: You said Nintendo, why you keep moving your goal post? Have you no shame?
okay okay Nintendo's home console god dammit. 3ds isn't even half bad. if it had more rpgs i'd own one. the problem is WiiU and soon to be this Switch thingy.
@silversix_: Yeah, Switch looks to fix the issues Wii U had. Nintendo bout to bring excellance back to the home console market. And boy has it been missed. This gen has been the worst in history of gaming for home consoles. Use to be so much greatness, now its a fading shadow of what was once so grand.
i would be very surprised if it is. surely its almost done (if not completely finished) and its just a case of they dont want to release it now and undermine the switch.
they may have a limited run on physical copies since its unlikely to sell to well on the wiiu anyway but they can still release it on the e-store which would cost them nothing basically.
it would be a bit daft to completely scrap the wiiu version since its so far along in production now.
