Biggest disappointment/surprise of the year?

For me, my biggest disappointment was with FF13-2. Nothing like the first game, and the story was terrible..and the voice acting sucked.

Biggest surprise would be Sleeping Dogs, a fantastic game that captures Hong Kong brilliantly and it's a complete blast to play.

Biggest Disappointment:

• No GTAV. I was banking on a holiday release. Thanks for ruining my x-mas R*.

• 3+ mil. people bought RE6 on consoles.

Biggest Disappointment:

• Grand Theft Auto V not being released, Rockstar released the first trailer way to early.

Biggest Suprise:

• Ridge Racer Unbounded, suprised by how much of a good racing game this was, and it offered a great challenge.

Biggest Dissapointment: DOA5, i mean i love the figthing system, but the lack of game modes compared to DOA4 and the subpar online really hurts the game, it is still a hell of a fighter, but it wasn't the amazing game i was expecting.

Biggest Surprise: WWE13, Just one word, Attitude Era (ok 2, but you know what i'm talking about), not only is packed with content, multimedia and unlockables, but the gameplay is pretty solid too, not to mention it has some of the best wrestlers ever plus the online contributions definitely make this game a must have for every wrestling fan, if anything current WWE fans (do they exist?) might be dissapointed because WWE Universe mode kind of sucks.

Biggest dissapointment: Probably Paper Mario Sticker Star. Was a top 3 most hyped game this year and hearing what the game was like shattered my soul. I was initially in shock but I decided I will buy it probably next week.

What really hurts was I thought it may go back to how TTYD was, after Super Paper Mario, but instead it seems like a middle man. Hearing there were no parters (just learned that this week) made me throw up in my mouth a little.

KoA: Reckoning was easily my biggest disappointment.

Haven't really been surprised by anything. Black Ops 2 I guess, but only because up until a week or two ago I wasn't even considering buying it. I was impressed with the stuff I had read about it and thus far I'm really happy with my purchase. The campaign is quite entertaining.

biggest dissapointment..gears of war 1. i was sooo excited to buy a 360 in july and the first game i bought was gears 1. i ended up buying all 3 games in like a week. im really underwhelmed by gears....but at least l4d and mass effect 1 made the system worth the buy...

Because his team couldn't grasp the 'cutting' aspect. He really had nothing to do with it, as he was working on PW. And, working on FoxEngine. He produced it, but not much more.

Biggest Disappointment: Me purchasing Halo 4. Here I was thinking I was above that sh1t. I never thought I could disappoint myself so much, but I really let myself down there.

Biggest Surprise: Mass Effect 3s ending being that bad. I kind of knew it would be silly and dumb. I was expecting some Deus Ex Machina sh1t. But they got that crap out of the way early. With the Crucible being a main plot point. So it was like okay....and then there was a lot of great character stuff. And then that god awful child ruined everything. Man that crap sucked.

It happens that the biggest disappointment this year turns out ot be the biggest disappointment IN GAMING EVER for me.

F*cking Diablo 3. Nuff said.

Biggest suprise for me was how bad Bobby kotick and Jay wilson f*ucked up Diablo 3. F*ck those loosers.

Halo 4 not completely sucking dick was pretty surprising.

Biggest Disappointment: Guild Wars 2. When it was announced, I was just hoping for Guild Wars 1 in a persistant world, after the mmo manifesto I was hoping it would execute these stuff well, while still having the depth of GW1. When it was released it didnt execute any of these stuff well and was nowhere near as deep as GW1. Still, better than SWTOR.

Biggest Surprise: Kid Icarus Uprising, I seriously expected this to be crap and a disgrace to the 3DS library, it ended up being my GOTY.

I'm still kind of a beginner when it come to Tales games. I've only really played some of Symphonia, Abyss 3D, and Graces f. The story and characters aren't as good as Abyss but the combat...just too good. Sometime next month I should be getting Vesperia so I can see how it compares to those games.

I'm still kind of a beginner when it come to Tales games. I've only really played some of Symphonia, Abyss 3D, and Graces f. The story and characters aren't as good as Abyss but the combat...just too good. Sometime next month I should be getting Vesperia so I can see how it compares to those games.

So what about comparing it to Symphonia? I have beat Symphonia, Vesperia, and am now playing Abyss 3DS. Vesperia is better than symphonia in graphics and some combat/levling mechanics and such, but I prefered Symphonia's story and such. Abyss so far is my least favorite story, but perhaps that is because I don't love any of the characters yet. But I am only 4 hours in or something.

disappointment: ME3. forget the ending. that design was awful. it was basic stuff like levels too.

surprise: dragon's dogma. it was basically the last thing i expected from capcom. open world, hack & slash that doesn't resemble DMC, and and genre innovation over pandering.
