I agree that 1080p should be standard next gen, but most launch games already are.

As for the future games, i don't see early PS4/X1 adopters, used to 1080p at launch, accepting a downgrade with a smile in the face. Look at current gen; With a few exceptions, devs managed to keep the 720p, from 2005 to 2013.

Eh, i'm missing the part where these resolutions where confirmed by Dice, there's no confirmation in the links provided.

Another troll article looking for hits?. Good to know someone is making some money out of cow gullibility.

Seems weird actually. PS4 has a 50% GPGPU FLOPS advantage over XB1. Yes?

1600 x 900 = 1440K pixels

1280 x 720 = 921.6K pixels

1440K / 921.6K = 1.5625 ... or a 56.25% 'pixels rendered' advantage.

So, in this particular instance, assuming the same frame rate, PS4's pixel advantage is disproportionately higher than the flop advantage, it's doing better than I'd ever suspect.

There could be more going on, resolution isn't everything, but still ... how curious.

Anyway, my girlfriend wants this so it's pre-ordered on Origin. I've seen the BF4 Beta running on PC, and on 360 and hahahaha, that 360 version. Hilarious.

PS4 - 25.6 Gigapixels per second

Xbox One - 13.6 Gigapixels per second

With all of its power, the overhyped ps4 runs the game in 900p? Sad. 720 for the xbone? Sad. But the WiiU is running games at 1080p and 60 FPS. WiiU more powerful confirmed.

Well EA wanted to keep the 60FPS mark, even on PC to get there you need to drop something in 1080p at least in high is that way, even the 7950 doesn't hit 60FPS.

And sure the wii U can run it at 1080p with 60 FPS with gamecube graphics that is.

,,,where's the source? This isn't even rumour level, it's just some guy saying it with no evidence, the only link is to OXM which says nothing about the resolution and focuses on the 360 version anyway.

How many times did i told you so.? That the xbox one would have to give resolution and detail to keep up frame wise with the PS4.? How many.?

I would say 720p or 900p/60fps for a game like Battlefield 4 is pretty acceptable, especially considering it's a launch game.

AssGrabber's Creed is not 60 FPS on consoles.

Let's be optimistic, man.

The best looking games on PS3 and 360 (Uncharted 2, 3, TLoU, GoW3, Gears 3, Halo 4, etc) have ok textures and run at 720p/30fps. I'm sure devs will find a good balance between visuals and performance, just like they did this gen.

It does NOT say anywhere in the original article that the PS4 is running it at 900p and the x1 is running it at 720p. The article does exist, but a troll decided it would be a good idea to just add that info his comments about the article. Does it actually shock you at all? The 7970 average 60 FPS on 1080p with drop as low as 41 FPR,how in hell will the PS4 be 1080p 60 FPS when the more powerful 7970 can barely do it at 1080p.

-Snooze-

900p is 'cause to celebrate? The PS4 is pathetically weak. The Xbone is just that bit weaker.

You are not getting the big picture here, yeah sure you can run the game on 1080p on PC but the great majority of cards in high will not give you 60 FPS,even the 7970 average 60FPS and has dips as low as 41 FPS,if you go 7950 or less you don't get 60 FPS 1080p on PC,in other words Dice chose resolution over frames, while you can run the game on PC at 1080p but you have to trade frames for resolution and since PC gamers demand 60 FPS,i guess you will be playing on medium or less to get those 60FPS at 1080p.

So yeah the great majority of PC can't either unless they give up frames.

Maybe I have the wrong idea about resolution but the larger the display the larger the pixels. It would be less noticeable on a small screen, while on a large one it would probably be much more so (depending on the distance of course)
