Graphics have been great since last gen. Graphics have improved of course but I'm thinking from here on, graphical differences will be minimal. The bigger difference from here on will be resolution and frames per second. PC will always be more capable than consoles unless the next consoles allow upgrades.

Yeah if graphics stayed somewhat the same with framerate improving (stable 60 fps) and resolution going beyond 1080p, moving to higher resolutions in the next 5 years or so, than I'll be very happy.
But of course graphics will keep improving... they never stopped doing so.
But for example: 5-10 years ago you could look at a texture or NPC and go: I hope they improve that one day. But nowadays ? Nothing comes off as "this needs improving" really
It's always nice when you see effects in some games that aren't in any other games though ^^
Like water moving very realistically, NPC that are human like because of mo-capping... Or in DOOM which had a lot of nice looking particle effects.

Damn that's a fine looking game, say what you will about dice but at least they're willing to push the envelope visually. I'm gonna have to start thinking about upgrading from my 7870 though :(

Last year i upgraded my 7870 to 970 and the difference was huge, get a 1070 and be ready to get blown away :D
lol Kratos beard has more detail than the entirety of BF series combined.
Remain jelly hermits. Nathan already look miles better with his manly chest hair, when Kartos with his ultra manly beard will be unleashed you will have no place to hide. Just fear the day when Horzon is released with tons of foliage and is so manly that her female character has facial hair.

Paying $400+ for a GPU just doesn't sit well with me. I still remember when you could get a new flagship GPU for $300...
It's not worth it. How many games (that you are interested in playing) require you to have a high end graphics card? I'm still rocking a GTX 780 and it's more than enough for my gaming needs. I used to be into having a the latest PC tech but I've come to realize it's simply not worth it. Save your money for something more important.

That's why I still have a 7870 after 4 years. But I'm finding myself having to turn down a lot of cool effects (especially AA) in many titles, and paying ~$200 after so long for a hefty improvement is worth it IMO. Screw those $400 or $600 cards though.
Drake's backyard has more foliage and grass than this. But hermits gotta make up a "king" somehow right lol
This game manages to look better than UC4 but with 10x the scale and double the FPS. BF1 completely shits over UC4 (which isn't even the current graphics king) by a considerable margin.
Look, the whole "Awkwardly pretend PC doesn't have the best graphics." act got old with PS3. Now it's just kind of sad. It's been 10 years, you're never going to have graphics king. Just stop.

Please don't lecture people because they think differently from you.
I wish Dice would push Dynamic Scaling for xbox one because the Scorpio improves the resolution and frame rate if devs use it. Battlefield 4 is still played today and that game released at Launch of the consoles.
I bet if it's a console exclusive you hermits would start parading all kinds of grassgate wouldn't ya? It just shows how hypocritical hermits are.

Looking forward to BF1 on PC. Just built my first high-end gaming rig. That being said, Far Cry 4 on my PC looks better than the pic posted above. The gameplay I've seen of BF1 on Ultra seems to have more grass, but true, not as much as Uncharted 4 or Far Cry 4.
