Why was final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn nominated? It's a fantastic MMO that does the series justice, unlike FFXIII.

Heavy Rain had 4 different people you can play with, different endings... but in here its just 1 girl... and game is kinda same only with different ending.

I have no problem with the QTE control scheme; it worked well in Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain. And Telltale’s Walking Dead showed that it was possible to tell an engaging story that fools the player into thinking that he or she has some semblance of control over how it plays out.

But the problem with Beyond: Two Souls is that there is no real control scheme and almost no game play. You move Jodie slowly from one point to another and activate a cut scene. You help Jodie cook a meal by activating a series of cut scenes. Help Jodie in a fight by watching the cut scene carefully and activating the next cut scene.

I enjoyed Heavy Rain but never really had interest in this game. I'll play it when it gets cheaper if I don't have much else at the moment.

Probably because playing MMO on a console is fail. Best played on PC.

I havent played it yet, but I dont know why this gets so much hate when a game like Gone Home is praised. I mean, if the only argument is that its not much of a game...

I was really unimpressed with this game, I didn't give 2 shits about Jodie and Aiden but they're the only people you play in that game. Atleast in Farhenheit and Heavy Rain, you controlled 4 unique characters (if you count that one villain cameo from Farhenheit), and there were plenty of different endings to get during the process of the game. In Beyond, you only choose the ending you want at the very end, there's little to no buildup for you during the rest of the game to get different endings.

Not too mention how many bad cliches this game has

I liked heavy rain better. But Beyond is ok at most.

It wasn't a good game but Knack and Killzone look a hell of a lot worse.

That's not really a game. So I'll pick this.

Sounds good to me. My friend, it seems Dues Ex uses a fantastic movie like trailer, that's only about 2 minutes long to set up the games concept. Thats all you need really. The rest is interactive, without the need to kill giving the player many options to play. As opposed to an uninteractive anime or in the case of David Cage, a shitty QTE simulator.

I don't think it was to do with the fact that it's more of QTE movie game. It just isn't as good as their past works plain and simple.

This award makes no sense. Final Fantasy 14 is on the list so does that mean that we're not talking about Sony exclusive titles and if they think Knack, Beyond and FF14 were the worst 3 among some of the crappy titles (less mainstream titles of course... ) that have been released in 2013 then they are crazy.

I haven't played it myself but I've seen a lot of footage from it and it's ok at best. A lot of the "gameplay" segments are pretty shitty looking and the story and characters are badly written cliches, but that's David Cage for ya

I'm sorry, but I can't take that award the slightest bit seriously when they used those nominees. There was a hell of a lot worse than any of those games on the various platforms, and it just shows how completely useless that list really is, and thus how meaningless winning (or rather losing) such an award is.

I'm sure you actually played it...not. I bought it on Black Friday for $25 and I will try it for myself very soon. Also AAAe on Gamespot since that is all that matters(which is false,but the idots on SW love to say that).

and you likely bash the game for its outward appearance and actually haven't played it yourself. I'll admit these types of games are not my cup of tea, but they are games. You have objectives and you can fail them. There are also different decisions that affect outcomes of situations. Now, if you want to bitch about whether something is or is not a game and does or does not deserve praise, I direct you to Gone Home.

Overpriced, short, indie game about a "coming out" story where you just walk around a house and learn a story. No decisions, no way to lose. NOTHING. Seeing it get tons of awards everywhere.

The story and characters are basically a bucket with the worst, most over-used Hollywood cliches, and the overall writing is horrible. I've played up to little bit after the party segment of the game, but i really couldn't stand it anymore.

I don't mind cinematic adventure games, i'd love a cinematic adventure game like Beyond but with a good story and a good script. And maybe with a unique setting? Like Planescape?

Imagine Planescape: Torment done like a cinematic adventure game such as this. Without the slightest hesitation, i'd give almost anything to experience that.
