Fantastic car racer vs fantastic kart racer. I choose both :P

Forza as it's an actual racing game with some depth to its mechanics, versus Mario Kart which is praise Item RNG Jesus.

Mario Kart 8 is hysterically better.

Forza Horizon 2>>>

The game made all other sandbox/open world racing games look like trash.

The Crew and Driveclub are two of the worst racing games of all time, while Forza Horizon 2 is top notch and a wonderfully crafted game. Where as The Crew and Driveclub you can tell are just out to get money, the games are borderline garbage.

As someone who doesn't care for racing games I'm gonna vote for MK8. I acknowledge that this is the equivalent of someone who doesn't play shooters preferring CoD over CSGO but whatever

Drive Club and The Crew put Mario Kart 8 to shame.

Am I the only one that noticed that the poll is inaccurate? Forza Horizon didn't get a 9. It got an 8.

I refuse to answer because they are both equally snagging at what they do. It's apples to oranges though, 2 different types of games outside of you drive in both. Not really comparable.

Mario Kart 8, love it even when it's infuriatingly cheap. Forza looks great, but haven't played it yet.

Only spent a couple hours with Mario Kart 8, it was a lot of fun.

Forza Horizon 2 is hands down the best racer I've ever played though.

You cant compare MK to forza they're 2 completely different types of games entirely.

Myself ive been enjoyin DriveClub of late particularly with the new weather patch its pretty spectacular.

Forza Horizon 2 is my favorite racing game. MK8 is fun with family though.

Holyyyyy FK, if I currently had a job, I might definitely start looking for one soon.

MK8 seems like a blast aswell coming from a former owner of Mario Kart wii,DS, n64 and gamecube mario karts (yep alot of MK games)

I would say Distance and its still deeply in Beta but already Legit.

Distance Gameplay

• 4-6 player online. Also local splitscreen.
• Multiple controller support( Has multiple ingame controller icons. (If you use a playstation controller to PC and can set icons to show circle, X, square, etc in game. First game i've seen with this ability to choose icons)
• Level editor. One of the best editors I've seen and already 200 community maps. Nothing better then playing Rainbow Road.
• Graphically insane. Runs like a champ on almost anything. Have Tried on a ouple laptops with Nvidia gt540m's, intel 4400 and 4600 and all run great. Several graphical settings also.
• Stunt, sprint, trick modes already set. Soon to add Ghost mode so you can play against your best times or times of others.
• Amazing soundtracks. Soundtracks interweave with the game with ability to use sound to control lighting and effects.
• Flying, jumping, wallriding, spinning, shortcuts, etc. Its all here.
• Made by guys who made Nitronic Rush (free college project racing game)

I bought a Wii U to play games like Mario Kart 8, I didn't buy an Xbox One to buy games like Forza 5, though I might give Horizon 2 a shot one day, preferably a year later edition loaded with DLC.

Clearly Forza, at least it is a racing game, Mario Kart is just something else that can be fun but nothing if ya want a real racing game.

I only managed to play a few times both games cause I don't own the consoles.. MK is fun and has a particular charm to it, but being a car enthusiast Forza is by far better..

However one can truly compare these games... they're different even though both are racing titles !!

Mario Kart is a shallow distraction that gets its praise as a racing game from those that dont like racing games.

Mario Kart 8. There's so much depth to the racing. It is far more challenging to be good at Mario Kart. If you were to watch what people were actually doing with their hands playing either game, the difference would be striking--Mario Kart simply never stops. Racing mechanics are a musical masterpiece. Forza is slow in comparison.

Phfft, what's this like the umpteenth time you and others made this thread? The two shouldn't even be compared, an open world go anywhere racer with real cars with tons of content compared to a go cart closed track battle game, riggghhht. :P

MK8 could have easily been just a mini game or easter egg in FH2 so yeah, FH2 by light years.
