Best looking remastered game.

Is, God of War 3 remastered. One of the best looking console game from last gen with an update of 1080p and 60fps, better lighting and higher res textures here and there could easily hang and actually looks better than some of the XBone launch titles, beating them not only in resolution and framerate, but also graphics quality. One could only imagine what GOW4 would look like if we do get a sneak peak from Playstation Paris event.

Homeworld, also a better game.

Halo 2 Anniversary, God of War remastered is an upres and framerate increase, nothing more, it's a PS3 game and still looks like one.

Very impressive. I can't think of a single bone game that looks better than that.

GOW3 was one of the best looking titles last gen and still holds it own with this remaster..

Your opinions are quite often stupid, but this one probably takes the cake.

Assets weren't touched, textures are the same at 1080p. Lighting wasn't touched either except for making bloom more intense.

The game also uses trilinear filtering, which is laughable.

On the face of it, God of War 3 Remastered appears to be nothing more than a straight-up port of the PS3 game, with its enhancements mostly coming from its full HD resolution upgrade and much higher, more consistent frame-rate.

It already has fantastic lighting, and sharp textures, no need to revamp the whole thing like some other remasters do. The end result really shows how much it can benefit from a 1080p boost, easily can hang with early launch titles from XBone.

I am not a fan of remasters, however I wouldn't say at $40 these are rip-offs... Simply cause for those who missed these games last gen and want to play them, they have the opportunity to do so with improved overall performance / visuals..

Personally I don't buy remasters since being a collector I have most of these games / consoles so can easily replay them if I want to..

Likely to be outdone upon the release of Gears tho. or perhaps not, 343 has supped up the visuals since taking over Halo and this will be the first we see of The Coalition so it should be interesting.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on PS4.

I'm not really following the Gears of War remaster all that much, but what I've seen I can't tell if I prefer the older look or the updated visuals. Regardless, I don't think it looks all to incredible and barely a chance of outdoing Halo 2 Anniversary. That game is just beautiful throughout.

Yup, it was an afterthought since last gen it was common to pick Gears as a visual showcase on 360 but then it hit me what 343 did with Halo 4, nearly looked next gen compared to the other Halos so yeah, I'll stick with Halo 2 as well. Halo 5 should really be a looker me thinks.

Definitely looking to be that way! I've been watching bits of gameplay here and there, not much, but what they showed at E3 looked beautiful. At the top of my most anticipated and one of the few games I'm purchasing day one at full price!

GTA5. It's still one of the most technically impressive games on any platform.

So which is it gpuking? Have they revamped the lighting or not? It seems you at first said it had better lighting then you changed your tune and conceded it wasn't changed because it was fantastic to begin with. Seems like you're trying really hard to sound educated about graphics but have no idea what you're talking about.

I'd have to say Halo 2. God of War looked amazing on PS3 and the PS4 release highlights the already excellent work. Wind Waker HD is a looker, too. I was really impressed with the visual overhaul.

Halo 2's remaster was pretty good and so is Homeworld's. I haven't played the Wind Waker remake so I can't comment on that. God of War 3 is barely a remaster.

@PAL360: GTA V wasn't a remaster. Just re-released on more powerful hardware with graphics adjusted accordingly.

This was a game that was actually reworked from an SD build of a 13 year old game...

Halo 2. Gorgeous. The visuals in the MP maps are eye candy. The SP was sweet too.

I think GoW 3 looks better, models and others but H2 on MCC has a much better leap. Not sure what to pick.

@hood_honky: I wouldn't say it looks better then all Xbone games but it certainly looks better then a lot of them. It looks better then alot of PS4 games as well

@Thunderdrone: Of course it does as there is an entire generation gap between those two games. So although WW is much more improved GoW 3 had much less to improve.
