Batman Arkham Origins - mega flop 6/10

I actually played the game at an expo. It's a bit more clunky, but otherwise almost identical to Arkham City in looks, gameplay and even the style of the city. I'll definitely play it... later, just for the story.

Will wait for Psymon's impressions.

I think it got such a low score because its so similar to the past two games. That's a good thing to me which is why ill pick it up. I have no interest in the multiplayer anyways.

Got a 78 on Gamerankings, which is both what matters to me (not one single person's opinion, which is what GS is) and good enough for me. Anything that scores a 75 or above are games I look into. Anything lower and I don't bother.

I hope this is a sign of gamespot finally using the full 10 point scale.

Not sure what game this reviewer played but it apparently isn't the same one i'v been playing today.

That's kind of shocking. Will get the GOTY edition later on for like $20 like I have the last 2 games.

From what I read there isn't much bad. It's Batman. It's not going to reinvent the wheel. And I don't care about multi player. I'm having problems accepting that review. And that's just from what you copied. Might have to skip reviews by that individual.

Seems like a good 7 to me. Found the review content inconsistent with the review score. Reviewer wasn't negative enough to warrant the 6. AC scores a 9 and this is more of the same but gets a 6.

Having alot of fun with it atm, some bugs here or there but up there with AC so far.

Yeah I've noticed with this reviewer. Scoring seems inconsistent with the actual review. Metacritic has the review as a middle to high 70s. I'm planning on picking it up.

I have had zero interest in the game since I heard the reveal story many months ago where they announced Rocksteady wasn't making it. I may get it on a Steam sale in a year for $5.

I'll wait for a lower price or a GOTY edition.

Riddlers in it. You are introduced to him for the first time. Yes you go round collecting crap that allows you to fast travel. No riddles, they are puzzles like Arkham City.

Not surprised, Arkham Asylum was a superior game to Arkham City yet everyone praised City even though it felt like a step down since the first game, no surprise they probably though they could get away with a worse game again and get praised for it since people showed they had no taste with their "Arkham City is better than Asylum" praise.

I've yet to play it, and it'll probably stay that way for a while. But if it's the exact same as City only with a new story and multiplayer, then a 6 is justified since AC was released two years ago.

No but it's the same Arkham we've been playing for the last two games. ZING.

The reviews all over are pretty low/average and you know what sucks? They're docking marks for it not being innovative and just "more of the same" which is such horse shit. Wait till you see CoD Ghosts,AC IV and BF4 get away with it

The only useful thing about a review is finding out if the game doesn't work properly.....other than that....they are worthless.

I find it this to be pretty funny. It's a logic that only works sometimes, and others are utterly ignored. I wonder, if Arkham Origin was a new ip, one that had nothing do to with Batman or the Arkham franchise, would it have scored better?

Yeah, I fail to see what is wrong with more of the same. Then again, this could go towards my sheep status, but damn, there's nothing wrong with it as long as it's entertaining.

I played the first half an hour last night. My only real complaint is batmans voice.

Waiting a bit. Not sure if I'll get the PS3 version for collection sake or the Wii U version for the cheaper price and lack of a mode I don't care to play.

Batman Flopham Borigins.... Said it first.

Wasn't expecting it to revolutionize the series... Was hoping it would be another arkham game I could sink my teeth into... Cant help but to observe the hypocritical deduction of over all quality centering around the lack of innovation in the gameplay and then looking at the yearly retreads like CoD, and the the like somehow always skating by without a whisper. II'll reserve judgement till I see how harsh gamespot is with cod ghosts and battlefield.... When they quietly pass off an 8/10 despite the gameplay being exactly the same over the last 10 installments, that's when I'll riot :P

Ohh yeah I knew that because it's the guy who plays chris redfield. I've watched some more reviews, his voice sounds like it does get better.

Why? From the trailers Roger seemed to be a pretty decent fit for a younger Batman. He has that deepness to his voice like Conroy.

Conroy always fell incredibly flat when Batman had to raise his voice or shout. He was only good when he was doing the inner monologue stuff in the games or talking normally

Better than the scores indicate

They're all correct in their assessments that it doesn't give us anything we weren't expecting (haven't tried MP yet) but the game still shines with excellent production values and the same level of quality as the previous iterations (albeit thus far I still favor AC as the best entry).
