Assassin's Creed Unity Delayed

Apparently, the delay is just a couple of weeks.

Still, the race is almost over. Assassin’s Creed Unity will release in the US on November 11 and in EMEA territories on November 13, 2014.

Yes, that’s two weeks after the previously announced release date. But along with big ambition – and even bigger promises – comes a lot of heavy lifting. “This being a fully next-gen game, it requires a lot of work, a lot of production, and a lot of learning,” says Senior Producer Vincent Pontbriand. “It’s always hard to be precise and to quantify exactly how much work is involved. So as we get close to the finish we often realize we’re near the target but we’re not quite there yet.”

The new release date for Assassin's Creed Rogue (the PS3/Xbox 360 game) is November 13 in Europe and other territories; in the US, it will release November 11 as planned.

So wait what was the original release date? So it was kinda delayed?

October 30. And yes, a minor delay.

The issue is, it now launches in the same month as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Super Smash Bros., Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

It's going to sell very well on the PS4, and poorly on the Xbone.

However, only two of those are on PS4 and Xbox One yes?

Two of those are on Xbox One, one of them is on PS4.

I mean, I love Assassin's Creed, and I loved Black Flag, but I can't get myself to be excited for this game anymore, man, I just can't, I've played too many Assassin's Creed games in too short a period of time, and I don't think I actually care any more.

That's ignoring the handheld titles like Liberation.

If I have $180 to spend on games total in November, then yeah, they kind of are...

Funnily enough, I didn't even feel this burned out until I saw Rogue. I was excited and gonna get Unity before, but then they show off Rogue, and it all just looks the same, and Unity looks the same, and I don't know man...

Yeah. Oh well. Games will sell millions without you or me.

I don't think there is naval combat/exploration in Unity.

I skipped AC3 and Black Flag, I think I want Unity.

Need the extra time to downgrade the graphics for the Xbox One... OK I'm gonna stop trolling now :).

Ubisoft really should expand on the idea and make a new IP that is based on Pirates. A pirate game with the sailing mechanics (wind should play a bigger factor though) and combat from AC4, where you build a pirate fleet, aren't tied to 1 ship, and actually get to sail around plundering with the fleet would be a pretty good game. They could cut out all of the Assassin's Creed crap and actually focus it on pirating and the game would be much better for it. Pillaging small coastal towns and picking off unguarded merchant ships would be a lot of fun. They would need to tone down the ship upgrades, though. The jackdaw was way too overpowered.

They could even have a multiplayer where you and your friends took the best ship from your respective fleets and go on big raids together. Or have competitive battles on the seas.

I wasnt too excited for unity until watching a short video of the single player campaign on LIVE today and my opinion changed dramatically. Multiple entrances and exits to assassinations actually makes all the difference in the world to me.

I was always annoyed how in previous games straight through the middle or "from above" seemed the only real options to get to your target. I never felt like an assassin...just somebody good at climbing buildings. This is a problem in most stealth games though, im still not sure devs know how to create "stealth". I suppose most ordinary human beings dont know what it means to be stealthy let alone build a game around those mechanics.

I'm still hyped for Call of Duty, Advanced Warfare looks great.

Unity though... eh.

I'll get Unity since finally a graphical bump that can add to the gameplay (more people on screen). I tend to play these AC games for a while, then take a break, then come back, so its sort of nice to have a constant amount of game to play, so ong as the story remains interesting. Things got strange after 3 and i'm not entirely sure where they are headed anymore.

Expected. Having Rogue and Unity release at the same date was the best choice.

Not one single one of these is a direct competitor. Apart from mentioning three handheld games, you also have a wii u only game (and we know how ubisoft has abandoned the wii u so no competitor there), and two FPSs. Had you mentioned Shadows of Mordor you might have a point.

Lol at the poeple just now getting tired of AC. I got tired of it back back around AC II.

@Animal-Mother: I feel the same way, I beat the campaign and haven't touched the game in about 2 months. I spent the last few months of the last gen tryna get 100% completion and acheivements in AC3, skipped Black Flag until this gen came around, and at this point I'm just burnt out on AC.

Don't have a boarding pass, nor do I care to get one.

At least it wasn't a 18 month DriveClub style delay.
