April 1st In Gaming: Do You Hate It, Or Love It?

Did you know Half Life 3 was announced?

Today is April 1st, and obviously that means that a lot of joke articles will pop up. Now, how do you feel about that?

Does it annoy you, or do you just ignore them? Maybe some of them make you laugh out loud?

For me, I don't care all that much. I appreciate the legitimately funny articles from time to time, but when it comes down to it, most of these articles end up being something you want to happen.

Example.

That is a joke. An April Fools joke, but you know you want it to happen. It's one of the many examples that I've come across in all my years on the internet.

Well the leagues and the Google Maps pokemon challenge seem fun to me so it's pretty cool, and all honestly April fools has been kinda in the down low because the only legal pranks you can do are lame as fck so people generally don't care any more besides middle school kids.

Don't think it has been that bad this year. Not much has happened.

@freedomfreak: I liked it better when GS and IGN just posted all sorts of articles, and didn't explicitly say "April Fools". It was funny to see how many people fell for the stories.

Always enjoy a good distraction from the same old, same old though so far this year, nothing truly brilliant that I've seen.

Its the worst because most of the "jokes" aren't even funny.

I hate it. I don't mind a few funny videos from devs, but the media turns into a nightmare of misinformation and gaming news become unreliable for a good week.

It's uber lame this year.

At least Chaz stumped a lot of us last year.

It is what it is. I find the gags from larger companies generally enjoyable, smaller websites hit or miss, and gamer pranks largely annoying. Been enough great jokes from all groups over the years that I'd miss it if it went away.

I like it. Some devs like Blizzard have a rather good sense for humour, so their April 1st jokes are always great.

I keep hoping every year that someone will make an announcement that seems too good to be true, and we'll all assume it's a prank. But then it turns out to be true and it's bombshell news.

I ignore everything that was written on April first and chalk it all up as fake April fools jokes. If they want me to take it seriously, then write it on March 31st or April 2nd.

It's really annoying but only 1 day of the year (or at least a few days to clear up misinformation.

It's when the news is actually believable that it makes me question it. I hate that.

The Samsung towers over the iPhone, measuring in at 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9mm yet weighing only 130g. This dwarfs the iPhone at 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6mm.

This added screen real estate means that it perfect for watching movies, or for playing one of the many games that grace the Google Play Store. Being Super AMOLED as well means that colours come highly saturated, although this can be toned down within the settings menu.

It just shows how juvenile the gaming media/industry really is. You don't see that childishness on ESPN or other major media outlets.
