Recently played a bit of Castlevania LoS at my friends house.. and wow.... i've played it on the console.. but because of the visual upgrade it felt a lot more enjoyable than on the console. Even considering buying it for the PC although i have my PS3 copy :P

The performance and extra sharpness really bring out the visuals even more. It's probably the best looking game on consoles, but sony fanboys like to flood Uncharted and TLOU pics everywhere.

Fallout 3 looked better on my PC, but I didnt enjoy it anymore than I did on my PS3 because it was the exact same game and all of the reasons as to why I liked it had nothing to do with its graphics. Much like all of the games I play.

Better graphics to me dont actually make the game itself better. Console or PC, if I enjoy a game on one Ill enjoy it on the other.

Yea

C&C 3

COD 4

Controls, graphics, mods, dedicated servers etc.

Those 2 games I can definitively say that for.

GTA4. The game actually runs at a nice framerate, there is more traffic, much better draw distance, etc. It's just a far more enjoyable experience. I'm sure most games are this way, but I almost never pick up multiplats on consoles.

I did that with ME2. Granted it wasn't thaaaat much better than it's console counterpart, but it did have a good set of keyboard controls and a pretty solid resolution and framerate bump.

I probably did because i love games that the story take you in an adventure, and because of that reason castlevania LoS was the first game this generation that made me care about graphics, because of the environment and travel.

After buying a new pc halfway through this gen--lasted way too long--I bought 60 games in a year because they're so cheap, mostly five dollars, and It didn't matter if I had played them before. The difference in quality is huge, and made the games 10x better. Not only graphics, but controls and fps too. Multiplat games have better graphics than "next gen" games, and fanboys are claiming ownage with ps4 vs xone. Basically buying a new pc turned my consoles into dust collectors. Tried playing TLOU recently and it feels like playing a game from a previous gen.

I got GTA4 for 360 back in 08, enjoyed it. But when it came out on PC, it was much better in every way possible.

Isn't it funny. The worst port ever, is still 10x better than the console version.

I actually hated Half Life 1 when I played it on the PS2.

It's my favorite game of all time nowadays. The dual shock is just atrocious for shooters. Never did like that controller.

Though that's not really about graphics is it... It's incredibly rare that I play a multiplat on a console first. That just sounds like a waste of time and money.

Some examples:

Played Bioshock 1 on PS3, hated it. Rebought it on PC earlier this year and loved it

Played the PS3 version of Just Cause 2 and hated it. Bought the PC version, added some mods, and sunk 100 hours into it.

Played the PS3 demo of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, didn't like it. I just got the PC version and put in 4 hours today.

I don't get any multiplats on my consoles except for Dark Souls and I enjoyed it MUCH more on PC. 60 fps + I literally could see details in armor and shields that I did not notice on the 360 version since it was so blurry.

Yeah, several times, the difference both in visuals and gameplay is so massive on some of them that once you have the PC experience it starts getting really hard to go back to the console experience.

Increased framerate & resolution has certainly done a few games some favors. Don't really like playing on m&k/b for most games so generally the improvements stop there. Granted I just like playing on an open platform so even if the framerate and resolution improvements weren't there I'd still generally prefer the PC.

Dragon Age: Origins. The gameplay is like a different game going from console to PC. Can't believe how bad the console version was in comparison.

I still have to try the PC version.... the only reason i don't get it it's becuase i don't feel it's worth it w/o all the DLC's and already have them on the PS3.

Try playing Black Mesa, the free remake of HL1. It looks amazing.

Damn, you missed out.. with the humble bundle BF3 was only 4 bucks, and all the DLC is on sale today for 12 dollars (all of premium) on PC. So you could've had the superior version for under 20 bucks :P

They took out the Top Down View, ffs.

Naturally, Bioware being the idiots they are just took it out all together in DA2.

I played through it when it was "officially" released.

It's the greatest remake I've ever played. The people who made it did such an amazing job with the artwork that throughout the entire time I was playing that game I had no idea I was playing Half Life, but I always had the feeling of deja vu.

It was a very awesome experience :)

Well I almost never buy any multiplats for my consoles since those all go to my PC, but there were a couple times it happened.

For example, I rented the PS3 version of Tomb Raider from RedBox just to try it out and soon after bought it off Steam for my PC. Being able to play it with a smooth frame rate, rather than the juddery frame rate in the PS3 version made the game feel and look so much better in motion. Not to mention the PC version just looks vastly better with the tesselation, higher resolution textures, higher quality SSAO, higher res contact hardening shadows, etc.

The other one is Castlevania Lords of Shadow which I bought for my PS3 since there was no PC version at the time and since it is such an amazing game that I couldn't pass up. It was a beautiful game on the PS3--easily some of the best visuals on consoles--but it also had a lot of slowdown and jaggies. On the PC I get a rock solid 60fps and it transforms the experience. It feels amazing to play now and I can really appreciate everything Mercury Steam did with the combat and the animations. I also use SMAA through RadeonPro and that improves the image quality a lot, as does the texture filtering and 1080p resolution.

Honestly, I don't remember playing any multiplat with a PC version on consoles.

I suppose I can only list GTA IV, tried it for a bit on a 360 once, and it wasn't pretty. The PC version saved the game, and I'm talking vanilla here, despite all the awesome mods we got lately, never modded GTA IV myself.

Never played much of Castlevania on my PS3, I'll probably sell it and get the PC version on a sale.

I enjoyed GTA IV a lot more on PC than I did on my 360, I spent dozens of hours just messing around in the video editor. The game also plays a lot better, at higher settings and it has a whole bunch of mods.

Pretty much any multiplat is better on PC.

Halo, Gears of War, GTA IV, all Modern Warfare/Black ops (apart from offline co-op modes like survival), BF3, Skyrim and the witcher 2 are all far better on PC than they are on the Xbox 360.

I own a 360 as do a few of my 'not really serious about gaming' mates, give me a PC anyday.

I actually played TorchLight on the PC first, but ended up getting it on my XBox 360 and liked it better on the 360. Was just easier to get into. Now that my PC is hosed, I don't know if I'll be able to download the game on my new PC that I'll be building.

Usually if I play a game on a console, I don't bother to play it on the PC.

Almost every one. The framerate alone improve games a lot. I just prefer those games that have a good local mp like Gears of War (it would be amazing playing the third one at 1080p 60 fps...) on consoles. Makes me wonder if will get "HD remakes" out of current gen games. I'd pay a dollar for a Uncharted 2 game running with 16xAF, good antialiasing, 60 fps and ind full HD.
