Another gen and still no PC game with a MC score of 97+

Poor hermits, another generation is over and we still haven't got a game over 96 on MC :(

Do you guys think we PC gamers will get a 97+ game this generation? I'd say let's make a petition but those ports usually end up being way way worse than the original. Just look at GTA IV, our version got a pathetic 90 on MC while the great PS3 version got a 98!!, now that's a huge difference.

So even if we keep petitioning for GTA V, we probably won't get a good port, it will most likely be only a 90 game in the end while the consoles still get the superior version AGAIN! Argh these damn consoles, R* doesn't care about us PC folks :(

PC has turned into a joke since the PlayStation brand got so incredible big, maybe we can make a petition to change that though? What do you guys think?

Is this thread supposed to be a kind of sarcastic joke where you pretend to be a PC gamer? Either way, MC scores aren't the be-all and end-all of gaming. Even if the console versions of GTA IV got scored way higher than they deserve, the PC version with iCEnhancer mod completely blows away the console versions.

PC had more aaa(90%+) and aa(80%+) games than all consoles combined last year.

On the other hand I believe the TC is trying to discredit Metacritic comparisons by showing us the huge discrepancy in average scores between GTAIV on PC and PS3 when the PC version is better than the PS3 version by a huge amount even without mods.

I hear ya TC. I only play games with a MC rating of 97+ and this is why I simply can not game on a PC.

And yet most (if not all) games with 97+ on metacritic were reviewed on completely inflated hype for a game.

As crazy as it sounds, I usually find i prefer the games at 90-96 on metacritic to 97+ for that reason.

Nope, you're wrong. Only the two or three games that score over 96% on deh metacritic are good. Ask anybody, GTAIV is one of the best games they have ever played.

@meganfocks: The only game on the 97 list that cannot be played on PC is Grand Theft Auto 5, which we all know is only temporary and will be the definitive version.

that being said, I think the 800k peak LoL, 600k DoTA players and the most popular genre MMORPG is not even available on consoles and has a much tougher standard.

A lot of PC devs simply focus too much on graphics instead of purely gameplay these days. Not all of them are guilty of this, but quite a few of them are. Gameplay should always come first.

PC games have on an ongoing community as well as graphically and better running games in most cases.
DOTA is more of a gaming culture and can't put a score on it really.
Besides, PC demands high standards. Although indie games are taking over.

The only reliable review is my own and for me, PC games outscore consoles games more often than not.

The Vanilla PC port of GTAIV was fooking awful. Horrendous hardware support and MAX 20FPS for about 2 years after it was launched until R* patched it.

The Metacritic took these factors into account. It was still a good game, but the better experience, at that time, was to be had on the PS3

Mods and Community Driver support changed that though... it just took an insane amount of time

PC games are not rated compared to console games. And very few people who get into journalism chose between that and math, so who gives a flying flute what numerical rating they give?

Oblivion got a lower score here on PC than on 360. Which was better?

Call of Duty 2 got a lower score on PC than on 360. Which was better?

GTA 4 got a lower score on PC than on consoles. Which was better?

Even if you preferred a gamepad for some stupid reason, they all run better on a high-end PC. And games like X3: Reunion, Simcity 4, The Sims, and Rome: Total War are played for so long after release it gives greedy publishers terrible, TERRIBLE nightmares. So they jump to console and tell you that "social" means playing online with some smack-talking 10-year kid in another country instead of playing LAN with some friends, because that's how they encourage people to buy the newest refresh of their annual formulaic "game".
