Amazing Total War: Warhammer In-Engine Trailer

Keep in mind, this is In-Engine Trailer. Some stuff can look better, other can look worse in the final game... Some of the features are often removed as well. Long Story Short: The Trailer has both In-Game animations as well as customized ones used for trailer or planned to be included in the game.

Looks good, but the game play is boring to me. I bought Medieval and couldn't finish it.

This is beyond awesomeness. Reminds me of opening cinematic of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos (but now in real time).

General speech was amazing and this time they'll have more meaning to them as well, since your generals won't grow up and die, instead they will be the one to lead your armies throughout the game. It'll be a lot more personal this time around, because of the lore surrounding Warhammer universe. Same goes for agents.

Looks sick! Haven't purchased a TW games since Medieval, that changes today.

Its almost like Total war and Warhammer were always meant to go together

@naz99: Apparently the team at Creative Assembly are huge Warhammer fans too. When they started working on this title, a lot of the devs brought in their own Warhammer sets and they basically converted their lunchroom into a big gaming space. One of the interviews says morale is extremely high throughout the company because everybody really likes this project.

Between that and the work and polish their engine has gotten since Rome 2, this game is going to be great.

Please use Vulkan/DX12. Pleeeeease.

for now the only thing that worries me is the price of DLCs

My guess is DX12 patch post release, just like DX11 patch for Shogun 2 which helped the game a lot.

GPU won't cause much problem. It's CPU... Hopefully they will support DX12 which will allow them to go crazy with visuals and performance gain will be massive. They released DX11 patch for Shogun 2 not so long after the game's launch it greatly improved visuals and performance.

With there being a Linux/SteamOS version of Total War: Attila and Rome II coming later this year, hopefully when they jump aboard the Steam Machine and Linux wagon we'll get the Vulkan API for Linux users or for all OSes to save time on development and all release at the same time.

@Cloud_imperium: TW can still kick GPU in the nuts.

Been listening to a Youtube series called "Fluff for the Uninitiated" and while I had only read a little about the Tyranids in the past, I had no idea how deep and complex the WH40K lore base is, and I'm loving it.

And when people used to say "Spacemarines could beat anything outside the WH40K universe" I would chuckle a little, considering I had no idea... but now after hearing the list of their augmentations, equipment and how it all interacts with one another, I take those chuckles back. GOOD LORD.

Now, I bought Dawn of War II on sale a few days ago for the sole purpose of having it, but now I'm considering putting SCII on the back burner and getting into some 40K. Dat lore tho.

You should really consider getting into WH40K books and audibooks... that stuff will blow you away in gore and lore.

I'm actually reading recommendations right now about which novels to start with, and Eisenhorn seems to be atop most people's lists. The Omnibus is grossly expensive, but I think I can find the individual novels at a reasonable price.

Not really interested in either of these franchises but it looks neat.

Hero of the Imperium is a fantastic book (compilation), a bit more light hearted than the usual WH40K books .

Don't get me wrong, this looks fantastic, I just find the 40K universe more appealing.

I just ordered a special Horus Heresy set which includes the first 12 novels...I'm stoked.

If you want to understand the 40K universe, read the Horus Heresy first. It takes place roughly 10,000 years before the mainstream 40K universe and is an explanation of how the Emperor and his Primarchs created the 40K universe through their interactions with Chaos and each other and the subsequent civil war it unleashed.

Consoles dont stand a chance.

well its total war so you already know what the gameplay will be like more or less. With this series its all about the spectacle in the battles so in this case a cinematic type trailer is actually pretty informative, giving info about the unit types/abilities etc.

Why would I expect a video game company to show me a fucking video game and not complete and utter nonsense of something the engine "can do" , but might not necessarily do? It's not indicative of anything the game will play like, last I checked this medium's defining quality is: oh right gameplay. But I'm apparently the crazy one for not apologizing for bullshit.
