  • Animal Crossing (I hate it)
  • Blue Dragon - What a bummer this is to me personally.
  • Chromehounds - Decent concept, just not for me.
  • DDR Ultramix 1 - There's like one good song on this and I'd have to look it up.
  • Dead Island - Blah, not sure why I don't want to play this. It's funner to watch someone else play to me.
  • Dead Rising
  • Dead Space - I really tried for about 3 or 4 hours but this game isn't that great to me.
  • Devil May Cry 4
  • Duke Nukem Forever - Acclaimed for what? Atleast it's not completely broken but this game fizzles!
  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Final Fantasy IX
  • Final Fantasy Tactics
  • Half-Life 2
  • Jet Set Radio Future
  • Just Cause I+II - Two is a big step up but it's not my cup of tea.
  • Kameo - Good music, that's just about it
  • Killzone
  • Kingdom FING Hearts II (8 hours into this I couldn't take anymore)
  • Lord of Arcana - This wasn't even critically acclaimed was just a "Monster Hunter clone" why start the game off so hard?
  • Lost Planet
  • Metal Gear Solid 2
  • Metroid Prime
  • Modern Warfare 2 (3 hours or something in I just can't take this anymore.)
  • Mortal Kombat Deception - this game just isn't that good
  • Ninety Nine Nights I+II - Concept is carried out much better in Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2.
  • Panzer Dragoon Orta
  • Pokemon SoulSilver (17 hours played, it's just not the same as the old days on Red)
  • Resident Evil 2
  • SoulCalibur IV - This series has jumped the shark, the characters feel hollow. Bad physics.
  • Star Wars KOTOR 1 (2 I played Go Obsidian I guess)
  • The Simpsons Game - just not that great
  • Uncharted 2
  • WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 - Just not as good as 2007
  • Zelda II
  • Zelda Wind Waker (Gave up hours into this one)

These games don't get a pass from me. Edit 3 other games added.

Gamertag-TFTW
I appreciate you taking the time to give valid reasons for why these games suck. I swear I thought common sense was myth before reading your post.

Mass Effect( I couldn't play the first one. The gameplay wasn't very good IMO, and I don't want to play others without without playing the first.) Elder Scrolls(just is boring to play) Assassins Creed 3( this game is such a chore to play and it doesn't have very much depth)

MineCraft

Gears of War, Battlefield, League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Borderlands 2 (just got boring too quickly), CoD series (self-explanatory), and Fable (although I did enjoy Fable II).

None, I've been able to get into all "acclaimed games" so far.

EDIT: Actually, Frozen Synapse and Total War: Shogun 2 are a couple of well recieved strategy games that I just can't get into; I practically have to force myself to playthrough simply because they're strategy games.

Dark Souls. I suck at it. It brings me more frustration than joy, and that's a good indication for me to stop playing.freedomfreak
This. I also suck at it, and don't see the point of trying to get better, cause the difficulty seems to be the only thing it has going.
#60 Posted by Microsoft1234 (7674 posts) -
Dark souls may be that game but I did get it a year late. When some one helped me it made it fun. Maybe I should just try to go back into it. WllDan7
definitely much more fun with other people.

Demon/Dark Souls. I cannot get into a game like that because it doesn't have a story and the combat kinda sucked.

Assassins Creed games. I just dont know what it is, I dont like the games. AC2 was actually good, but something seemed off in the rest.

Infamous 2. I hated hated hated the main character change. Hated his voice, hated the way he fought, just flat out hated him. But with that said, I may buy the InFamous collection sometime the road because I like #1, and its just a better value to buy the collections.

Crysis 2. I effin hate the changes they made to the game. It completely contrary to my playstyle in #1. In 2, you cannot lay prone (effin gay and in order to run, you have to use energy and once energy is depleted you stop running (effin gay too). I wont be buying #3 unless its more like #1.

Uncharted 3. Everything about the game is way overhyped and it sucked.

To name a few

  • FFX- Tidus ruined the game for me
  • TF2- Never could get into it
  • Oot- MM was better at the time
  • R&C series- Never could get into them, always thought they were a lesser version of the Jak and Dexter games
  • Oblivion- The character creation was awful, same with the dialogue system
  • Goldeneye- Outside of a few hours of co-op, the game was painfully bland
  • BF2/1942- Tried them but they just seemed meh to me

Crysis2 for me was a dissapointing given the way it changed the nano suit use from the first game.

Assassins creed 2 n 3, i enjoyed the first one perhaps cause it was new n fresh, but i basicly rushed thru the sequels because i was getting bored.

GTA4, this was a game i tried, sold, bought it again, sold, borrowed it, never played it much n etc, i jst couldnt get into it at all which is weird cause i loved RDR.

Infamous 2 also, i liked the first, perhaps cause it was new but the sequel, while better looking and what not, i just couldnt get into it at all.

MW3, good heaven, the only COD game i disliked after a few months.

Killzone, now this one gave me mixed feelings, while i did play and get a kick out of KZ2 multiplayer and tot the KZ3 campaign was decent, i just feel at some bits, its not a game endeared itself to me.

Vanquish, holy mother, what did i say, this game is awesome in terms of action, but something just made me bored n wantd to finish n delete it as soon as possible.

I didnt bother buying Skyrim, Fallout, Oblivious and all those games that feel like an open world of chore.

I tend to be cautious of Open World games that feel like a chore rather than a fun game

Wait...if you didn't buy them then how do you know they're a chore?

Mass Effect series
#66 Posted by Lief_Ericson (7082 posts) -

Half Life 2, maybe its cause im playing it now instead of when it came out but I honestly do not see what all the commotion was about.

Also Assassin's Creed 3 took so long for me to get into.

Borderlands 2, which was weird because I loved the first one. The Witcher 2. I really wanted to like the game, but it clung to too many PC conventions which drove me nuts. as to Assassin's Creed- by the time I finished Brotherhood, the 2012 storyline was the only reason I kept playing the series. and to the other fellow: what was it about Arkham City that didn't pan out for you?
#68 Posted by NoirLamia777 (2126 posts) -

Fallout 3, haven't even started New Vegas because that game was such a chore.

#69 Posted by wis3boi (31012 posts) -

Dark Souls, Gears, uncharted

#70 Posted by with_teeth26 (6025 posts) -

Dark Souls, Assassin's Creed 3, Uncharted 2, Skryim (to some extent anyways), GTA games before IV, Dead Rising 2, Counter Strike

The Elder Scrollsjg4xchamp
Bingo.
#72 Posted by Mr_BillGates (3186 posts) -

Guild Wars 2: they lied about being different than other MMOs, but in reality is very very very generic itself. Waste of my money.

I can usually play any game regardless of time period if it's still amazing or holds up well, and even if it doesn't I can have fun. I enjoyed the first MGS long after MGS2 came out and I was accustomed to better controls and graphics, I can still get back into Half-Life like it was nothing, and SUper Mario 64 is still one of the best games ever made.

But my God, Deus Ex does not age well at all. I finally forced myself to play with my GPU being replaced, and once I got to Hong Kong, Steam decided to wipe my games, and apparently only new games use cloud saves so my Deus Ex saves were lost and since than I don't think I've had any desire to really play it. Before than I also managed to play some before kind of giving up.

It's just, the graphics are old, but they also seem to make no effort at aging well like Half-Life and Mario can. The controls are iffy, the combat is not great, some of the skill points are totally useless (swimming and hazard suits???), and it's so buggy it's just hard for me to immerse myself. I could see myself loving it when it released and I'd still love to finish it one day, but man is that game dated.

For the record, Human Revolution is one of my favorite games this gen.

I can't seem to get into the GTA games. I also can't get into the Just Dance/Dance Central games.

#75 Posted by HaloPimp978 (7249 posts) -

AC3 I gave it a good score but looking back on it was the worst game in the series IMO.

Infamous

Mass Effect. I couldn't get past the terribly unbalanced gameplay and sh!tty gun mechanics.

#83 Posted by organic_machine (9685 posts) -

This gen:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Mass Effect (although I'll reinstall it and give it another go)

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

the uncharted series. i have uncharted one and really tried to enjoy it. i got as far a some sort of stone fortress and called it a day. i actually would have preferred the game if the combat was taken out as the platforming was good and the levels were interesting to explore. after the inital fight on the boat and up to the sub was cool. but i just found the combat to be terrible and gave up. i tried the uncharted 2 demo and same problem. everquest. this was THE MMO back in the day. i hated it. it is anti-fun in my book. anything from quantic dream. i really really hate their approach to games. halo post halo1. for me halo stopped being good after the earth mission at the start of halo2. after ODST i just gave up (note this is the SP. i dont play the MP). halo 1 and the start of halo2 are great though, especially in co-op. the zelda games on the DS. had the makings of great games but some poor decisions on nintendos part really let those games down. i hope they dont do something silly for the 3DS zelda.

Metal Gear Solid (All of them) Final Fantasy (All of them, especially the older ones) Elder Scrolls (Don't really like bethesda's graphical style) Borderlands (Don't like Cel Shaded graphics.)
#86 Posted by Forever_Posting (213 posts) -

Journey, no matter how I play it or what state of mind I'm in I just can't seem to enjoy it. Doesn't mean it's not a good game though

#87 Posted by PsychoLemons (1985 posts) -

God of War 3, if I were to compare it to the previous games of the series.

#88 Posted by tryagainlater (7445 posts) -

The Elder Scrolls IV and V. Morrowind is still good though.

#89 Posted by getyeryayasout (7066 posts) -
Elder Scrolls, Fallout 3, Final Fantasy, and I've never played a stitch of Pokemon since it doesn't appeal to me. I don't care for most fighting games anymore, either.
#90 Posted by BPoole96 (22784 posts) -

Bioshock, Mass Effect, and Gran Turismo all spring to mind,
#97 Posted by scoots9 (3191 posts) -

Bioshock: It was fun, but it wasn't amazing.

Dragon Age: Origins: The Fade was the worst thing ever, the combat was dull and the setting was generic.

Battlefield Bad Company 2: Singleplayer was fun enough, but I could never really get into the multiplayer for some reason.

#98 Posted by Blabadon (25684 posts) -
Dragon Age: Origins: The Fade was the worst thing everscoots9
Well I can agree there. That and the Deep Roads.

Bioshock 1&2-Always get to the same damn part of the 1st game then get bored and never go back to it Portal-Beat the first one and stopped about halfway through the 2nd. Half Life 2-Played it, I think I beat it, I cant remember a damn thing from that game. Dark Souls-I got to blight town and then all the good video games started coming out last year so I just haven't had time to get back to it. Ratchet and Clank/Jak & Daxter/Kingdom Hearts/Sly Cooper- Have never been interested in any of these PS2 franchises
