PS4 on left PC on right. Maxed out (TXAA seems to cause the slight blurriness) Nvidia 780 GTX 1254/6500mhz

3570k 4.7ghz. Get 25-60 fps, also have it on PS4 from 10$ upgrade, seems to run locked at 30 which I prefer on the controller vs variable on PC 360 pad.

Anyways, its impressive to see the lack of differences. Good port on PS4, shit on PC. BTW this site sucks since the update

Yeah the PS4 port is fantastic, PC port may be shit but that still says something about it considering it looks the way it does. You should see the game at 1440p and using SweetFX though, just sublime.

I wonder if anyone has been mad enough to try it out in 4k.

Monitor only goes up to 1200p :P which is useless for this game since it has black bars lol. Yea, if you have the rig to run this above 1080p at a good framerate it might be worth it vs the PS4. Thankfully I didn't pay over 10$ for either. Just wish the framerate wasn't so variable on PC, rather have it a locked 30 ( Which I tried but I still get drops even with TXAA/HBAO ect off )

AC4 is not a demanding game. You don't need a top rig to max it out at 1080p. 1440p and 4K on the other hand are different matters. The most obvious differences at 1080p appear to be AA (especially the "jagged" sword on PS4) and shadows.

You haven't played it then, people with sli 780s, 290x ect can't maintain good framerate. It is a demanding game, more so then BF4 and Crysis 3.

Poor optimisation tends to be patched fairly quickly at least by nvidia, then the devs may release some patch that further improve optimisation. AC4's GeForce performance driver is not out yet.

This game pisses me off, i can run it close to max (environment detail on high, txaa x2) at a solid 60fps, but the tearing is abysmal and if i try and enable Vsync through the game any drops will knock it down to 30fps.

Even forcing Vsync through the control panel results in the same severe drops, and adaptive Vsync does nothing.

So it's either, run at lower settings than i should with my PC and get no tearing, put up with horrible framedrops and get no tearing or play at 60fps with alot of tearing.

Seems like the PC version has DOF turned on making the scenery that is at a distance look blurry. I hope you can turn that off

Also the PC screenshot looks grainy and less sharp than the PS4 one i.e. the character, barrel and planks on the foreground.

You can lock the frame rate and use your PS4 pad on the PC version if you want to.

It's not demanding at all, just needs some patching, which we'll see with future drivers that shouldnt take long at all.

Runs at a constant 60 FPS (can't go higher) on a GTX 770 and looks the exact same as those screenshots above. If you enable high god rays, TXAA x4, high quality PCSS it will bog the frame rate down.

This stat is pulled from deep deep down your a$$ i see..

By 3 months the PS4 will be like 5 or 6 millions, that slow ass attach rate PC for strong GPU is hurting PC,most people on PC don't own a GPU stronger thane the PS4 regardless of the PS4 having only 1 million units sold.

Didnt ac3 have an option to lock the framerate in half refresh... which locked it at 30? Why whouldnt ac4 have it aswell? If not use nividia control panel to lock it at 30 or afterburner pretty simple fix. Until it gets fixed to run at 60

@tormentos:

Its more in the cpu department than the GPU for PCs user based on the steam survey which is optional that aren't as up to pair with the next gen console. However a Quad core CPU from four years ago is better than the next gen CPU.

Irrelevant and off-topic. Don't attack me because consoles started off weak this gen.Don't be stupid next time. It does run and look better on PC, but not by alot.

But as other generations have proved, this gap widens as the gen goes by. This gen the gap is already on PC's favor in year one, that is rare. It usually takes 1 year for PC to overcome consoles...but not this gen. Consoles are at a deficit.

Now please show me where I was factually wrong. Idiot.

PC

PS4

As can be sin from the screenshots above the pc version of AC4 have much better ambient occlusion, volumetric fog, AA, shadows etc. for example a HD7850 GPU(equivalent to PS4) play AC4 with he same performance and graphic settings like the ps4.

@Jankarcop: you all said the same thing last gen about the consoles being behind. And they held up fine. AC4 on max settings looks identical you just need a beast of a PC to compete with a $400 prebuilt box.

All you need to play AC4 with the same performance and graphic settings like the ps4 is a low-end gpu like the HD7850 or equivalent (link)

No clip cameras. It basically releases the camera from its fixed position behind the player and lets you move it anywhere.

PC gamers have been using it for years to take great screens of games.

The optimization problem does not reside on the GPUs, it is on the CPU side. The developers did not optimize this game for effective usage of more than two threads, just like Assassin's Creed 3. The graphics cards aren't being used to their full, because the CPU isn't feeding them fast enough, because the game won't use more than two threads properly!

And since Assassin's Creed 3 had this same problem and was not fixed, don't hope for a fix for this game.

GG Ubi.

This is why PS4 >>>> PC right now. You get comparable visuals and none of the headaches that come with this optimization shit. I tried PC gaming and experienced a lot of the same issues you are having. No f*cking thanks.
