I was just catching up with some video previews and noticed that Rogue has been received pretty well... Praise to its convincing lead, setting (Um gangs of new York anyone?) and ability to keep fresh the ac4 formula...

On the other hand, Unity is presenting a coop experience, visuals and oodles of development time.

Is there a chance that this year's stand out AC experience is the one no one's really talking about?

Could be very possible. Still... its pretty silly that they're trying to branch off the story so they can profit more...

@Blabadon: good call blab, I ignored rogue based on its association with the ac3 era, which completely fell off the rails of what made AC fun to play... But what im reading and seeing is that new York, for example is loaded with distractions and things to do... Remember how bad new York was in ac3? Like, terribad. For some reason I feel like there's a chance... Will you give 2%?

If Rogue is the pirate or at least naval theme, and Unity is going back to the boring mundane cities, then there's a pretty good chance.

Well doesn't matter which one is better, PC will get both, which means I'll get both since Rogue looks a lot like AC4 which I loved and Unity looks to be truly next-gen with its graphics (which are hopefully not downgraded) and npc count. Also the whole 1:1 scale Paris sounds pretty amazing.

Both games should be quite good and hopefully they'll be worth the price.

The story looks a lot more interesting in Rogue, but on the other hand, it's made by Ubisoft Sofia, and is very clearly not a priority. It's also going to have last gen graphics, so it's not going to be very pretty to look at.

Not much propably. Unity brings massive improvements to every single part of the core gameplay and ones that were heavily needed. Plus it has co-op.

I imagine some people will prefer Rogue because of the story o ship combat, but objectively Unity is bound to end up a better game.

I think they both look bad, Rogue is just a AC4 clone in a less interesting setting and Unity is back to the broken formula of shitty combat and annoying parkour.

Rogue cannot defeat Unity by conventional means. Which I suppose is precisely making Rogue all the more unpredictable and exciting.

I don't think we are going to see another Splinter Cell: Double Agent, were the last gen game is better than the current gen one. In this case the lead team is actually doing Unity, while Rogue is being made by the team that made Liberation.

Honestly I'd rather play Rogue than Unity, Rogue looks like it's a little better than AC4 (which is the best one in the series) while Unity is the same old shyt as AC1 and AC2/spin offs but with omg *gasp* co-op and better graphics.

@jg4xchamp: this gonna sound bad, but after the year of disappointment that is 2014, a solid creed game doesn't sound half bad. Still, I know what you mean... When discussing creed one doesn't compare creeds against everything else, you can only compare creed against creed... :P

Unlikely Unity has been in longer development and I think Rogue might just be a filler story.

@scottpsfan14: explain... What is vast? Unity is a land creed game and rogue is a sailing/land hybrid. Are you speaking of distances? Or draw distance?

Unity is the far more ambitious game, nobody would argue that, and I actually applaud UBIsoft for putting a true next gen game out so my ps4 can take a break from feeling like its playing up-res'ed 360 games.

Co-op and a revamp to the parkour too...

But, none of this means it'll be a better game.

Rogue is AC4 with the new free-running movement. So Unity will be better and newer.

@scottpsfan14: I like the no load times aspect and the parkour improvements look to improve that aspect of the game.

Praise be to the dev who caters to the new hardware... I bought a ps4 for the promise of greater possibilities... I love what unity is doing, great post... I just hope it comes together.

Yeah but they're really going to have to make the combat more challenging for co op though.
