1080 is just an increase in pixels. Color, tonality, brightness, white-point, blackpoint, contrast, gamut, refresh delay, technology limitations, lifespan, and costs are all factors in buying a TV. If you end up having the worse of all of these for just an increase in resolution, i wouldn't say its worth it. So yes, 720 can be > 1080 just as 1080 can be > 720.XaosII
