Pretty good number of games considering the 360 only supports about 300 games through software emulation.

Hopefully this, along with the promise of updates to increase the support, should put to rest all the "Zomg BC is dead on Euro PS3s!!!!"Besides, I think people have better things to bash Sony for today heh.

Okay, so where's the big list? Percentages don't mean anything if the big games are in the Unplayable section.

PS. About teh 360's XBox BC...about 300 out of how many total?

Just as Microsoft was quick to fix problems with BC for it's 'big games', I'm sure Sony won't be putting emphasis on Barbie Horse Adventure over God of War II. :P

Big games? Panzer Dragoon Orta was one of its visual masterpieces, and AFAIK it's still not on the list.

Don't you realise that everyone already owns those games?

You feel like checking the second link I posted and picking a UK country? Then itll show you which titles are available to be played.

There are 1161 Xbox games according to gamespot so thats about a 25% compatability rate. There are 1782 PS2 titles able to be played on the PS3 out of 2451 so thats about a 73% compatability rate. Its the PS1 games that lowered the total precentage :P 1,044 out of 2570 for those.

That's the list of games. The only one I could notice missing was MGS2.

By 'big games' I'm talking their flagship titles... Halo, Halo 2... they had problems with some Tom Clancy games, which were also addressed quickly, if I'm not mistaken. The games that sell well will see quick support. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Panzer Dragoon, while a great game, didn't exactly break sales charts.
