A 32 GB SSD. Where exactly do you plan to install your games?

Does WINE give similar performance? Steam Linux is in Beta and barely has game support.

I certainly know that games can require a multitude of patching and tweaking to work correctly in WINE, see: DA:O.

Not exactly getting better.

32 gig SSD, crappy GPU, and no OS. If you install Windows 7 on that machine you could install maybe 3 games before filling that harddrive up, probably only 1 or 2.

It would never play games that a console could. Even if it has technically more power, it would never make up the overhead that DX requires to run games in a Windows environment.

All in all. This is not a gaming PC that can play game. You can find $500 laptops with better equipment than this.

no fans, no case, no OS...  GTFO!

lots of people have extra hard drives laying around. anything that can play a game is a gaming pc. Linux is free and can run many windows games fine under wine.

Wine

A copy of windows that doesn't take more time to set up games than you do playing them.

You're much better off with a console for $250.

no OS

Gue1

That is all he is technically missing.

However, the computer is pretty terribad.

Assumptions about extra harddrives and anything that can play a game isn't a gaming PC. Linux may be free, but getting windows games to run through wine is far more of a pain in the ass than it's worth.

Even if you have a monitor, mouse, and keyboard laying around, you're still going to have a terribly slopped together gaming setup that is inferior to even a new cheap laptop.

I'm actually done with this silly thread and locking it before it gets any worse.
