20th Anni. PSN Sale - Okay for consoles, better for Vita

Not all of the titles are particularly inspiring, but they're some good PS3, PSP, and Vita titles in the mix.

Alright guys, in terms of handhelds, any recommendations for me?

In order of preference, I'd prefer Vita games, the PS1 games, then PSP games.

@SolidTy: I know Trigger is superior on DS, is there any better way of playing Cross or does it hold up okay?

What caught my eye was the $4.99 price for each. My SNES Trigger is the one I played back in the day.

As far as Cross, I own the PS1 version and that's the only version I played way back. I can't tell you a comparison on the digital releases other than I would expect it to be the same, perhaps even faster at loading?

Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection are the best deals for handhelds.

I would have jumped at Chrono Trigger, but that's the PS1 version, which is shit.

Eh... It's a good sale. I just have mostly everything I want from it.

Bought Persona 4 and Tearaway. Been waiting for P4 to go on sale.

So are the DS/PC remakes of FFIV better than the original in the complete edition

Are you a veteran player? The DS/PC version is much harder than the remake in the Complete Collection. Other than that, it's a matter of preference - 2D sprites or a fully 3D world.

happy to finally see The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky on sale. Hear alot of good things so now i can pick it up.

Chrono Cross is tempting, but I think out of all the deals if I jump on one game it'll be Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection.

Just wish they would have given FFVI the same attention.

I think Lumines and P3P for me.

Both are great. The bummer is the lack of coop on the handhelds, as far as I know. However, I've played through Twisted Metal 2 so many times--it has that charm the old Street Fighter games have for me in the sense that if I'm bored I can just pick it up and have a blast. The music is great, too.

@Heirren: How have they aged compared to other racers/car combat games? I have TM Black in the backlog

Any recs for Vita? I'm thinking Final Fantasy 7 and 8 at least, along with Trails in the Sky and Ys. Prefer games that are really worth it on the Vita's screen and control scheme as opposed to a "free" download on my PSPgo, if you catch my drift.

Twisted Metal 2 is still the best one. I have it on disc, ps3, and psp. It will probably look great on Vita. There is that notorious psx texture warping but that never really bothered me, personally. There's just something about the way they play. The newer ones--haven't played the newest ps3 one yet--have this odd physics thing going on. Because of the way games are today it might take you a minute to adjust to the controls, but they aren't bad. The controls are what really make the game.

...Plus it is 3 dollars. I'd recommend both of them.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. It's actually cheaper than Steam sale (for PS+). Chinatown Wars is actually my favourite GTA game (haven't played GTA5), but I only played it on NDS. If you get Dragon's Crown on Vita, I am so down on playing online with you. I might actually get Tearaway, though $18 for a 5 hour game is still too much for me.

Chrono Trigger for 6 bucks is an absolutely disgusting. How old is that game anyway?

Slash, I have Dissidia 2 so that takes some of the debate out for me. I'm thinking FF7, 8, Chrono Cross, and Tactics Ogre for Square titles. I'm gonna skip Resistance, beat it already and while I'd love to try it on Vita, I can resist.

The DS Chrono Trigger isn't the best one. Snes. Who wants to be stuck with such a small screen and limited quality audio output.

@Blabadon: Jet Moto is, IMO, on of those playstaion staples that was never that great to begin with. The game is a mess and looks awful. It was a cash cow game to compete with Waverace on n64--it is covered in ads and "extreme"

I disagree. 1995 isn't that long ago, if Chrono Trigger was an NES game you might have a point.
