It's been pretty spotty. This year, 2012, the first 3-4 years of PS3, the first few years of the PS2 and PS1.

Plus, they have a habit of dropping support for their handhelds.

Pretty much. Happy B-Day PlayStation. Heh. To think I bought Fear Effect 1 this year as a start to my PlayStation One collection (the only PlayStation console I have a collection for is the PS2).

Don't Nintendo fans get belittled for being nostalgic for still buying Nintendo IP's (nevermind those who do it reminisce about how the SNES was so great and everything else about that were either not as good or just suck)?

I swear, calling someone out for nostalgia has to be one of the most hypocritical things to be called out on these forums for and if cows act as nostalgic, then they shouldn't be talking.

If only Sony was has awesome ahs in the PS1 and PS2 days.

But still, i grew up with playstation consoles. PS1, PS2, and PS3 early only. I simply outgrew them to pc. but i'm very happy that Son made such great consoles and brought us such cool exclusives.

After those few years it was a blast, and that lasted for the majority of it's life span. It was a long gen after all.

I think the industry hit that turning point around the arrival of the ps3. By the time that year head start was over with xbox, its Live service was in fully swing.

PSX is the greatest Sony console, imo.

And still here we are waiting for Greatness...... Awaits. :P

PS1 I'll give ya though but that's it.

i don't think so...most everyone here had a playstation console at one time in their life, for the most part. but not everyone here is a fanatical fanboy loyalist to Sony because of the great times they had years ago with PS. some people moved on from the past onto something they felt more in tune with today...some people look at Sony/Playstation for what they're doing/offering now and don't find it satisfactory despite the great times they had with their playstation consoles growing up.

so no, i don't agree. feeling nostalgic over the great times you had with playstation is one thing, but letting the nostalgia run your better judgement 'today'...is something i don't agree with. especially when you're trying to feed people bullshit daily about the ps4 being so great, when it obviously has not been. especially when the proof they use are Sony's past achievements, most dating from YEARS back, as reasons to buy into Sony and the ps4 'today'....

i don't have a chip on my shoulder when it comes to Sony, cows maybe, but not Sony. the ps2 was the last console i brought out of blind faith actually...that ended up breaking on me and i sold it to get an Xbox. which was fine because everyone was playing Halo at the time anyway. i only really brought it to play GTA anyway. but ever since then i consider both consoles...yes, leading up to this gen i was more vocal for MS and XB1. but i still was watching what Sony was doing, and considering.

i only brought an XB1 very recently...and that's only because of the games, exclusives, they have been putting out consistently over the last few months. and i like its features. plus there has been nothing but bad news coming from the Sony's camp for weeks now. even still, they were still an option until i decided. i don't have any issues with Sony personally...they just havent been delivering lately.

I don't remember the Ps3 delivering 4D gaming at 120FPS like SONY promised.

To be fair though MS promised there exclusives would look better than Ps3 exclusives.....Yeah... still waiting for that one as well.
