Good score, but I guess they still don't think it's very scary.

Actually that tells me nothing. I stopped trusting 1Up (and EGM) when Dan Hsu and Crsipin Boyer (and a lot of great reviewers with them) left.

8.5-8.9 out of 10.

Dead Space looks very good IMO. May end up picking it up on PC next week. A true survivor horror title hasn't been seen in quite awhile.

You have to remember. How desensitized the reviewer is. Is he a gory - scary movie fan and to hims this is childs play. Or is the reviewer a Care bear freak?

From a gamers prespective i'd say we are all getting desensitized from violence and horror. I was watching "The Happening" when the guy got ran over by the lawn mower I laughed.

I agree. I laughed so hard when everyone kept picking up the gun to blow their brains out.

Not me man i got scared in Halo sometimes i dont know why but i hate horror films/games. But i do like the silent hill games weird i know. I just think some people are effected differently to violence. I dont like boxing,wrestling,ufc or any of that crap. I like violence only when it is necessary. In MGS4 i didnt kill but like maybe 5 or 6 people.

A B+ game is crap now? Its not as drastic as that!

It'll be more like bioshock, assuming that you enjoyed bioshock. Interesting game play mechanics, decent lengthed single player that's memorable the first play through. Overall a good experience despite some repeative fetch quests.

8.5 is still an excellent score

I agree that the enemies seem a bit dumb

the game has gotten several 9+ scores so I'm sold. it's funny though how many of the below 9-coring reviewers nitpick like crazy, take ign for an example: "it's stupid how you can stomp on things a that are a little bit above your foot".

also, they always complain about stupid a.i. and framerate problems but funny thing is; why didn't they mention this in the gears of war and mgs4 reviews? they both have pretty stupid a.i. and framerate problems sometimes. IT'S A CONSPIRACY I TELL YOU!

In all fairness though, they are mutated forms of humans that are essentially nothing but monsters out trying to kill you. I highly doubt their capacity to think would really be all that high considering what they are.

it's a lot more terrifying when you see glimpses of humanity in the emenies.
