Xbox isn't purely for gaming, because that market is just too small.
Ummm, the gaming market is small? Is that why these consoles are the fastest selling of all time? Also just look at the PS4, it's only focusing on games and it's already nearly on 10 million sold.
The gaming market compared with the TV market is small, yes... The number of cable boxes in the world compared with the number of consoles. Almost everyone watches TV, only 100-150mil people in the world buy consoles.
Well shit son, why didn't you say so.
@Animal-Mother:
A)Massive quote chains are annoying
B)I dont like constantly getting notifications for a conversation im not a part of.
Im not saying edit your posts, just clean up the huge quote chains in the future.
A) I'm not breaking any rules
B) it's one click.
Sorry :( Don't let it bother you. Hell I didn't even notice notifications until you mentioned them.

A) Quote chains cannot contain more than 4 quotes. Thats a rule
B)Its one click for you to remove me, or one click for me EVERY TIME you make a post.
It does bother me when i have to check my notifications AND scroll through obnoxiously long threads.
Thank you.
So basically after "Bu..bu..bu..Titanfall will surely save Xbone!!!!"
We now have: "Bu..bu..bu..TV showsss will save Xbone!!!"
LMFAO, lemmings...how low can you go.
uh...no one ever said that these TV shows would save anything...YOU said it. so how low are you going? smh.

@Animal-Mother: Again, no one ever said people buy a game console for TV shows. But if you buy one that's tagged a all-in-one entertainment console then you kinda expect a bit of everything. And every single show is pirated or available in some way online, but a ton of people simply pay for their programming. The quality of the Xbox TV shows will tel the talk of if its successful or not. But there's value in a dozen or so shows being added for free to the 31 million Live users, and new Xbox One owners will have access to them. There's value if I'm gaming and enjoying the shows. Everyone doesn't but torrent or pirate or watch on Youtube, for if they did House of cards and Game of Thrones wouldn't be anywhere near as big as they are. If you are interested in buying a One/360 for gaming, and the shows are available as well without you having to do anything like bit torrent, then there is value as the price remains the same. Especially if the content turns out to be good. TV adds to the Xbox experience. And knowing so many programs are in the beginning stages, of various diversity, this feels like it has a ton of potential. Its up to MS to deliver.
@shawn30:
MS doesn't have infinite resources. Like I said before, Id be much happier if they focused on improving gaming. Ill probably check out the Halo show, but I dont think ill turn on my Xbox to do it.
No but they have miles more than enough to work on TV content and games. We all know this so why troll.
Tell ya people don't have a clue.

Well someone did. I won't name names. But he's kinda feisty somethin with star wars :P Doubles U's I think?
Once again. No it doesn't add to the experience.
Please tell me how you correlate value?
This is how I see it, if there's a really great burger place where you can only get the burgers in lets say new york for example, that adds value to the city and location.
But if the burgers are available everywhere the value of the location in new york is decreased. Why travel there if you can have it in your home state of Pennsylvania lets say.
I mean you wouldnt travel to Philly to eat mcdonalds. But maybe travel to philly to eat cheese steaks, something new york doesn't have.
@Animal-Mother:
@shawn30:
Thanks, dude.
I get to be on the internet and have to click a notifications button! My life is so hard!
At least you're not being a dick about it, Animal-Mother.
C'mon, man.
Whaddya want me to say?
I won't lie, i've been a bit of a sour puss lately, but I'm not gonna cater to everyones request because it's the most first world problem there is.
I mean if that's annoying and someone hasn't experienced much of life, you're gonna have a bad time, because quote chains and notifications should be
the least of someone's problems and complaints.

The fella is nice enough to ask nicely, and the only thing you can do is act like a 12 year old about it. It's a not question of it being a big problem or not. It's just common courtesy to remove someone from a conversation they're not part of anymore.
Especially when they're polite about it.
@Animal-Mother:
Im not the one making an argument out of this nonsense. I asked you to do something thats incredibly simple, nicely.
All shows pop up online, but people still pay subscriptions gt watch original programming they are interested in. MS just needs the right people involved and if the shows are good this will be a success. House of Cars can be pirated or whatever but its been a great hit for netflix. MS wants in on that, and with this being free for Live members its an added bonus content wise to the Xbox eco-system. I have high for hopes the Halo series and that at least 3 or 4 of the other shows turn out great. MS needs to continue adding value to Live and this helps in that regard.
So my question now stands. Did you buy a $500 gaming console for gaming or Original TV that will end up everywhere else?
I've had this discussion before. It doesn't add value or any bonuses or nothing. Especially when it'll be available other places and by shows end most likely watchable on your PS4/PC/Wii-U/Iphone Samsung tablet/Ipad and so on and so forth on some other service.
I bought the Xbox One for what it was advertised for, the All in One Entertainment system. Bought it for Ryse, Dead Rising 3, Quantum Break, Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2, Fable Legends, Killer Instinct, Halo 5, Gears of War 4, next-gen multiplayer games, Kinect games for my son, new IP's, Xbox Fitness, Snap, NFL App, voice commands for navigation of the full console and all apps, Skype, the potential of cloud gaming, and the exclusive LIve television shows and documentaries discussed last May. And if you choose to pay for Live, provided MS does this, and they allow you to watch their original programs on all other phones/consoles/tablets that's fine and you will still be paying them. This is exclusive content for Live members and if you like one of MS original shows why not pay and watch it. If Sony makes original content I can view on something non-Sony if it interests me I will pay. So yeah, a dozen or so new original shows available to me on Live, when none are available now, does indeed offer added value to me. Especially if those shows end up first on the One/360/MS Devices. Early on its likely that unless you pirate it will only be available on MS systems. That adds value.
That's not what I asked you. And you're usually better to give me the crock of shit PR statement. Also we know Microsofts history of abandoning consoles pretty regularly into the consoles respective cycle.
cmon lol, MS doesnt routinely abandon their consoles...at all. MS has only put out 3 consoles...one was let go, the other two are still getting supported to this day. they only let the original Xbox go because it wasnt built to progress to where the Xbox 360 was going. probably because it wasnt advance enough. but the Xbox360 is still getting games and support steadily. i see news on games and things happening on the XB360 at least a few times a week...i just don't post it because the board seems focused on next gen news.

Where is it in the TOU that states for me not to be a dick? Because last time I checked it's not required for me to be nice to anyone.
I said to him I'm sorry and told him not to be so groused by a notification on a gaming website.

And I like an adult apologized and said sorry. Sorry you upset but I don't care about you or anyone's notifications on a gaming website.

You did apologize though, true enough. I just don't like seeing a nice guy get shit on, AM.
I'm tender like that.

the XB360 isnt abandon and is still getting plenty of support and games. thats the story here. there's a few game releases i've given you links to there...n thats just this last weeks news. the console has not been abandoned...period. besides we're talking about game support...not "big releases". even if we were, where's the ps3s "big release" since the ps4 launch lol?
Just like in my thread announcing this a couple of weeks ago you will get Bovine saying 'who cares' and @Animal-Mother not being able to handle that original content adds value to LIVE.
I'll tell you like I told shawn.
If there's a great place in philly for cheesesteaks it increases the value of the city pulling people in.
If that place franchises the location in other places besides philly it immediately loses it's value. People don't need to flock to philly for those cheese steaks anymore.
The point of TV shows are to syndicate. MS knows it and the show runners know it. There's no value when the shows will be syndicated withing and probably within less than 6 months.
I mean look at halo 4 It was probably the 360s last biggest release, had a mini series and was on Blu-ray a media the 360 doesn't have mind you and on netflix in two months.
How is that value when I can watch the shows MS is releasing on anything else within 2 months? Especially with how TV viewing habits have changed in the past five years?
That's not what I asked you. And you're usually better to give me the crock of shit PR statement. Also we know Microsofts history of abandoning consoles pretty regularly into the consoles respective cycle.

Sure it gets support from the big publishers but no longer from microsoft.
Because sony supported 5 new IPs last year alone.

Which is entirely different than saying that people absolutely do. Me saying you don't know why people buy a system doesn't equal that I know why someone buys a system.

its not what you asked me lol. i wrote you first...i made the initial statement. you tried to twist the conversation and make it about "big releases" but i stayed on the original topic, and point, i approached you with. my point is that the XB360 is still being well supported...and showed you links to prove that. the only console that stopped getting support was the original Xbox. thats 2 out consoles getting maintaining. proving that MS does NOt abandon their consoles routinely like cows like to say. so why would i change subjects...u wanted to to try and deflect. F that...
besides, i spoke on the "big release" thing as well...so ur just out of answers it seems.
Well someone did. I won't name names. But he's kinda feisty somethin with star wars :P Doubles U's I think?
That is flat out not true bro and you know it.
Bro you kinda mentioned it in the last thread you had. Please let us not have this discussion again.
I said "people don't buy video game consoles for tv shows"
you said "you don't know that"
and we went on for about an hour.
Which is entirely different than saying that people absolutely do. Me saying you don't know why people buy a system doesn't equal that I know why someone buys a system.
You are being intellectually dishonest in your use of what I said.
No, i'm pretty sure that's how the conversation went. You insinuating that people may buy consoles for the features of TV programs.
That's not what I asked you. And you're usually better to give me the crock of shit PR statement. Also we know Microsofts history of abandoning consoles pretty regularly into the consoles respective cycle.
cmon lol, MS doesnt routinely abandon their consoles...at all. MS has only put out 3 consoles...one was let go, the other two are still getting supported to this day. they only let the original Xbox go because it wasnt built to progress to where the Xbox 360 was going. probably because it wasnt advance enough. but the Xbox360 is still getting games and support steadily. i see news on games and things happening on the XB360 at least a few times a week...i just don't post it because the board seems focused on next gen news.

and this is just the news from the last week. so you, and cows, really need to stop with the MS abandons its consoles BS...its not close to being true lol smh.
Name one big exclusive that's launched in the last two years that's not gears, forza or halo/
the XB360 isnt abandon and is still getting plenty of support and games. thats the story here. there's a few game releases i've given you links to there...n thats just this last weeks news. the console has not been abandoned...period. besides we're talking about game support...not "big releases". even if we were, where's the ps3s "big release" since the ps4 launch lol?
That's not what I asked you.
What's the last big exclusive the 360 got that wasn't gears halo or forza?
Sure it gets support from the big publishers but no longer from microsoft.
Because sony supported 5 new IPs last year alone.

LOL. I asked you what has MS supported with the system with big releases. An obvious answer is they haven't. MS abandoned the system as well as new IPs. Leaving it to the big publishers to release nothing but pretty much multiplats.
Xbox 360 exclusives:
Proof is in the pudding bub. Sony all big retail releases. Xbox 360 not so much and lol at lems who call the PS4 indie station 4. That's pretty much all the 360 got last year all XBLA titles LOL

I see the makings of a new P2M podcast! What do you say @TheEroica??

Ouch
oh sweet tv shows!
no. i'm just kidding.
surely the shows will be 'pirateable', and the xbox one games will not. therefore this really begs the question - given the prevalence of TV show piracy, and the ability to strip the HDCP - will these TV shows have any pulling power for xbox one?
i mean, how? if you release Forza 6: Top Gears of War, one hour after release it won't be on the pirate bay. however, an xbox exclusive tv show might be.
just my thoughts on the matter.

For anyone who will be interested, be it people who went ps4 this gen or is still a last gen user(360), it will be available online somewhere the day after it airs, if not sooner. Like you say, it will only take one Xbone owner to record it then create a torrent and boom. Depends on the user though if they know where to look for these things.
