For fun I'd like to see who out there got what and why. Me? I got the Collector's Edition because XII is where it'll end for me for the major Final Fantasies, due to Sony and Square's collective idiocy. I might as well go out with a bang and get the best. I won't mind watching the extras on the DVD telling me why it took them so long to bring me this game. : P Anyway, some of the best recent news for Final Fantasy XII is that other than the great localization it has gotten, the NA version will include a De-Flicker [Super Smash Bros. Melee had that in-game option as well (the best thing a game on the non-anti-aliasing PS2 can have)] as well as a Widescreen mode. I can't believe that they released FFXII out in Japan without a Widescreen mode. Banjo-Tooie, a game released before Final Fantasy X, and on the Nintendo 64 had a Widescreen mode. And of course, we all like those few cutscenes that were once text-only now being voiced.
Well. I preordered the FFXII Collector's Edition. I'm still going beyond Final Fantasy XII since I've been a fan of the franchise for the longest time since FFI. The reviews are very good for this game, it's adding the anticipation factor to the mix which I'm happy about.  Â
I'll probably get it for all the extra goodies. It is also supposed to be one of hte greatest Final Fantasies to date and why not get the special edition because of that alone? That and its shiny :P
I'm getting the normal one, because I don't feel like paying an extra ten dollars for a game I'm going to be too busy to play to watch the commentaries on the other disc.
I will get for the CE, really only for the extras, since the game itself doesn't really interest me but nontheless is a must buy for the sake of it being a Final Fantasy game.
I can't resist special edition versions, unless they are insanely over priced or packed with no extras I care about. I haven't been keeping up with what is in each package, but I'll probably get the collector's edition unless it's a rip off or has rubbish extras. Spurs_Fan, what do you think about Downing being linked with Spurs?

SquEnix has seriously spoiled me with all their recent games having shiny covers, and now I can't go back to the old ways, so I had to get the shiny new tin =)
plus the FF history is a great catch (although admittingly, being a loser that I am, i have recorded the Uematsu biography AND the FF history episodes of Icons from G4TV XD)
i went to gamespot 2 reserve it and i put $60 down so i already payed off the money for the CE so all i have 2 do iz go in and pick it up
I got the CE cause off the case i like tin and it looks betta but i also like the extras and it only cost 10 bucks more so why not can't wait for Oct. 31
