Caps vs Rangers again. Rangers should be favored but Caps vs Rangers series usually are long.

It will most likely be a west team. The only team in the east that matches well against the west is probably Tampa. They're very quick and could most likely counter how physical the west is.

Anyways, I think the ducks win it.

Definitely NOT Tampa. Team is ass and barely beat a Red Wings team nobody expected to do anything.

LOL Seriously it takes a lot of balls in hockey to make a guarantee against the NY Rangers because the last player to do it and pull it off was Mark Messier in game 6 Eastern conference finals 1994. So the minute Ovi said it, NYers and sports writers say "he's trying to pull a Messier". And Messier didn't win 6 cups and become the 2nd all time leading scorer and pull off the guarantee for nothing. Just don't do it against NY is the point.

Same old Caps. It's something I expect with that team and it still hurts.

I'll say now I think it will be a Rangers vs Blackhawks final.Chicago in six games.

Chicago and LA have swapped the last 4 Stanley cups, so he has weight to his argument since LA failed to make the Playoffs. The best team in the East according to hockey writers is my NYrangers, the defending Eastern Conference Champs but we struggle to score goals. We won game 1 today against Tampa but its a long way to the finals. But Anaheim is a big team that scores and plays gritty, playoff hockey with little room for fast scorers so the Chicago matchup should be good. Either way, TB or NY will be underdogs against Anaheim or Chicago.

Yep, Chicago and LA are now Powerhouse NHL teams. Rangers are on the rise surpassing the Bruins and Penguins which have been the 2 dominant teams of the EC

LA was a power house. Gotta take the regular season somewhat serious to continue that label. They choked in game 82 against Calgary and as a result they didn't go to the big show. Chicago sucked and the owner blew it for so long with that team. He died, Bill Wertz? Cant remember, but his son took over and they have been a power house since. NY would be so much better except for the fact that Rick Nash has 7 goals in over 50 career playoff games. Guy doesn't score when it counts. But the Rangers are threatening again despite him.

I did say Chicago in six,but I'm hoping the Rangers take the Stanley Cup.New York deserves another Cup.

I'm prediciting that it will probably be Chicago vs. NY but I'm hoping for Tampa vs. Ducks. I'm a Caps fan soooooo I really don't care as long as it isn't the Rangers winning it lol

The Rangers have to play defence because Tampa can score a lot and the Rangers are struggling to score. The Ducks made it look easy when they beat the Blackhawks 4 - 1.

@thegerg: When NY's defense fails they'll be forced to score. NY needs to avoid making mistakes or make less of them. I'm not sure if they can disrupt TB's pace often enough. NY did have a chance to win but they ended up losing. Allowing 6 goals in a game is pretty bad defense.

@thegerg: There is no doubt that if the Rangers want to win this series, they need to score. Their defense is decent although Lundqvist has now now given up 12 goals in two games. The Rangers showed last night that they could score more than 2 goals in a game, but even then they can't outscore Tampa. Like I mentioned earlier, Tampa could probably easily win this series if they stay out of the penalty box. Maybe they same thing can be said about the Rangers as Tampa's PP is really good. Bishop might be somewhat in consistent with his goal tending, but he is playing a better game than Lundqvist. I was shocked that Lundqvist gave up that OT goal last night.

What a downer that Anaheim and Tampa Bay are leading in their series.I want to see a Chicago/New York final.Hopefully Rangers win the Stanley Cup.But I think if that was the final,Chicago in six.

Chicago has a chance of winning the cup. The Rangers look like they are the least likely team to win the cup of the 4 teams sorry. The Rangers have a bad matchup unless they play more like they did in the game that they've won.
