I have to go with Favre. The only really significant area that Elway has him beat in is rings, and Favre's consecutive game streak outweighs that.CrimzonTide
Exactly. You can't pick Elway over Favre seeing as Favre has records like the streak, touchdowns, etc. I take him easily over Elway.
[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]Elway because Favre almost has as many INTs as TDs.Doomtime
I'm pretty sure that margin isn't even close. It's like 442 TD's and 288 INT'S I believe. Anyway i'd take Favre.
Favre: 442 TD, 288 INT, for a 1.53:1 ratio
Elway: 300 TD, 226 INT, for a 1.33:1 ratio
I wasn't a football fan when Elway played, so I never saw him play. I saw Farve play, so I'll have to go with him.Cube_of_MooN
After seeing the amount of big games Brett Favre has blown due to interceptions....I'm gonna have to go with Elway. Blood_Raptor_X
Err you also know how many he has won? He's had somewhere around 40 4th quarter comebacks, and in the 90's there was no better at running the 2min drill.

What about all the INT's Elway threw in his first 3 Super Bowl appearances?
Favre by a ton. They were both very good players but Favre personality wins. Elway was a good player but I could NEVER respect him after his draft and have never liked him. If your the best college football player you are gonna get drafted by a bad team, suck it up and play don't be a crybaby and threaten to quit.andyjlI like how you use something like that to rate players. What does that have to do with what he did on the field? Oh and Denver wasn't exactly good either when Elway arrived. Both played in 22 playoff games, but Elway had 14 wins with 5 Super Bowl appearances and 2 wins. Favre had 12 wins with 2 Super Bowl appearances and 1 win. Also, let's not forget they met in the Super Bowl and Elway's team won during the end of his career while Favre was still in his prime.

I am pretty sure the games were 11 vs 11, not a one on one duel. Not only that but Terrell Davis won BOTH of those rings for him(He had almost 4,000 yards in those two seasons).
If you really want to compare them in that game, Favre comes out on top. Favre was 25-42 with 256 and 3TD to 1Int. Elway was 12-22 for 123 Yds 0TD and 1Int. Yeah it sure sounds like he won the game for the Broncos.
Elway carried a mediocre team on his shoulders to 3 super bowls, granted they lost all 3, but they were sub par teams. If he had played for just about anyone else during the time, say the Raiders since they were a thread away from having him, he would probably own just about every single passing record you could think of.
Dan Reeves' Broncos of the 80's were a bunch of no names who relied on the talents of Elway to carry them as far as they went. Not to mention there has never been a better QB in the history of the game when it comes to late game drives, and that is something very few people will even ATTEMPT to argue against.
Oh and to say Terrell Davis won those two super bowls for John Elway is a very stupid arguement, especially if you look back at every super bowl winning QB who's ever played the game and in one way or another they've all had someone or a group of players you could say either helped them or helped contribute to them winning.
Anyway, I'd take Elway and probably 3 or 4 others before I took Favre.

I'd say John Elway was better at running the 2 min. drill due to the fact that he holds the record for most 4th quater comebacks
