Wear Long Shin Guards and always cover your head with your hands every time you get tackled and you should be fine..... oh and don't forget to be a team player.

You are not too small. I would advise playing DB or WR. Also start hitting the weights and eating a lot of protein like milk, chicken, fish. Put some strength on your body.

Right now you're too short for wide receiver, but you're young, you might hit a growth spurt. Eat more, work on catching the ball, and in my opinion, work on your speed. I would be doing sprints everyday from a stand still position. That way you could be a receiver later which you'll need speed and good hands, or be a running back or something similar because you're shorter now.

I was 5'0 going into Grade 8, and 6'0 going into Grade 10... too bad I never went past that lol.

Why would you need hands in football, except for goalie?

@gtr12: to catch the ball, of course. Especially so for WR or most any DB, but really good for CBs. RBs and TEs also need hands as they're expected to be able to catch occasionally too.

Don't forget special teams. Nothing is worse than having a return man with pan hands. If you're fast that'd be a good spot.

You should be alright at WR or RB but it is hard for me to image what a typical size for a 7th grader is like. Plus your just playing middle school football so size isn't the end all be all.

If you think you can't do it, you're right. Look up Doug Flutie to see what a guy can when he wants it bad enough.

@d_parker: Flutie was FUN to watch! Showed size doesn't matter. Ever have Flutie Flakesl? A cereal sold in western New York while Flutie was in Buffalo.
