union topic change...

Okay, Gofire brought up changing our union's topic as a possible way to attract more people. Here's my suggestion "The sonic speed union." Basically, we're broadening horizons. After all, sonic riders is about speed, so why not include other stuff? Besides, the Sonic union isn't really going anywhere fast, so perhaps we could surpass them with a subject change?sonicphc

Looks to me like SonicSpot seems to have quite some support behind it. So Gofire... Think it's time for the change?

Well, not quite. We can remain just Sonic and do just fine. The Sonic Union made 2 or 3 huge mistakes that killed them.

1. The leader NEVER gets on. Just that is probably a major cause in why they are MIA. The last time the leader got on was to announce the dire MIA situation.

2. One BIG thing the Sonic union had going for them was a massive Hurt 'n' Heal game including every character every created in the Sonic universe. When the game was over (Cream won) the officerts said, "Great Job, guys. See you next September!" See you next September for a new game!!??? WHAT!???? Kinda stupid! There was a whole week where there was NO activity after that and that's when the union went MIA.

In short, it wasn't a lack of topic diversity but a severe case of stupidity. With our officer roles system, we'll always have stuff going for us and we won't end up killing ourselves. Sonic is a big enough topic on his own, we just need to manage it right.

Okay, we've been talking about this for ages and have yet to do anything. I think it's because we really do't have any plan outlined. Here' how I see it should go:

Dandymarsh makes a new banner and icon.

Gofire sets the new banner and icon, changes name, and changes game associations to cover all the latest Sonic games.

Somebody puts out a telegram to tell everyone about the new union

Somebody goes on the union discussions board and makes a topic about this union for the purposes of recruitment

Somebody goes to The Sonic Union (which is getting REALLY desperate, according to my inbox) and offers an affiliation.

We finaly work out all of our officer roles and make it definite.

Please note that this does not HAVE to be done in order, but the ones above the line must be done before we go on to the ones below the line.

Thanks for being loyal. In fact, I'm surprised NO ONE notified me about these changes. Obviously, I'm not missed at all here. But I expected that. Anyway, I personally don't like the way it has changed because now, the union will attract people who will speak about ALL sonic games. It should be only about the most RECENT ones in my opinion. But if it were up to me, I'd keep the site the way it is. But it's not.
