I'm not on many social networking sites. Keeping up with GS and FB was work enough.

Well, I tend to reserve Facebook contact to real life friends (mostly because Mom's there and things get weird when Mom finds out about internet friends, even now...), but I have a few others. I'm GalacticBaron on Steam, mariostar0001 on Skype (AKA same as my Windows Live Messenger ID, since I just used that), and I also still use mariostar0001 on GameFAQs.barren167

Luckily for me, my mom refuses to join Facebook. Thinks it's too dangerous and she's never been a fan of technology she only recently decided to embrace the Ipod.

I usually reserved FB for family and real life friends as well, though if any of you remember user "Ridersinthesky" from waaaay back, he found me on FB a couple years ago and given I'm not on stuff like Twitter or Reddit or LinkedIn, FB is my only option for keeping in touch.

I was also invited to the Beta for the new format and in their feedback I did state how user contributed material was a big part of GS and people liked having things like featured blogs, unions, etc. was important to GS. Don't know if it will make a difference but hey, I tried.

I go pretty much everywhere as MagnaSonic3000 on all sites and messenger devices. If there ain't a Magna, it ain't me. GameSpot is literally the only place I'm not Magna.

You can add me if you wish, but I'll only talk to those I actually like or have no issue with. Gomen, I just don't want unneccesary frustration. 

That said, what we CAN do is offer Union leaders an opportunity to have their Unions converted into standard, public forums on the new site. This would, of course, mean that they lose the ability to control who can post in their forums, but it would ensure that all existing forum threads would stick around, and their communities would continue to live on, albeit in a different format. We'll be finalizing some details on this and reaching out to Union leaders soon.

We also intend to open up a set of brand-new lifestyle forums on popular topics to allow for wider diversity and to create new communities. We'll have more details on this in the future as well."
