The weirdest thing of all, I have the expansion too (forged alliance) and that works perfectly with sound . Only the original game doesn't have any sound .
Yes, I tried that , without succes, and again, I play Forged Alliance without issues .- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
Have you tried running it in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode? I had to do the same thing when I couldn't get sound out of Bioshock on Vista.
Yes, tried that one too ... I've discovered that there are others facing the same problems . I've read on GPG forums that THQ was busy with a patch for Vista users, but that promise is from end 2007...don't guess that one is still coming ...- Please wait. - Aug 17, 2009 8:46 pm PTZekere, Possible solution... I installed the march 2008 redist DirectX package and it fixed the sound for SupCom. I got it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=740AC79A-5B72-447D-84F9-EE6407ED1A91&displaylang=en NOTE: this is NOT the web installer(dxwebsetup.exe). The web installer reported that my DX version was fine, but after running the redist installer, SupCom had sound. This did not, however, fix the FA sound. After this I installed the August 2008 DX Redist, still no FA sound. Then the March 2009 Redist... No sound. Finally, out on a limb, I changed the FA executable to run in XP SP2 Compatibility mode and Voila! there is sound in both SupCom and Forged Alliance. I hope this helps you out.
