My birth year gets to claim Pac Man! I feel more awesome than old at this particular moment :)

I especially love the first two, which I played about five or six years after:

1. Killer Instinct

2. Donky Kong Country

3. Tekken

4. Doom II: Hell on Earth

5. Warcraft: Orcs and Humans

Either Quake or Resident Evil

Metal Gear and Super Contra (this one mostly).

Hey you had Elite so not bad (although it was only on the BBC Micro at the time mind you).

@poptart: the original tetris was released in 1984. Although it was on the Electronika 60 and looks more basic.

I guess that's not a bad one if you dig that kind of thing (always the source of great irritation for me - too little patience).

Just had a peak and there were a couple of games from that year I remember fondly - Balderdash, Impossible Mission and The Lords of Midnight for the C64. All in all, not a bad year for fannying around with games at home : )

Oh, It'll have to be Sonic the Hedgehog (1990)
