Magic Don energy is whatever the mysterious factor was that won him 2016. For my money it wasn't attacking the personal character of his opponent, though I think it's often interpreted that way - it was focusing on the long-standing issues which mattered to an incidentally rather angry section of the US.

What I'm trying to say is that Biden needs to be more than just the Antitrump right now, and his campaign has to make sure it's giving any gift horses a full dental check before escorting them past their walls. What worked for Donald is in no way guaranteed to be effective on Biden voters.

@sancho_panzer: normally I'd agree with you but this election it really is about being anti-Trump. Normally I say we should vote people, but this election we need to vote against someone (Trump).

It's very worrying that that might be enough. It's a shame that a president being hated should be grounds for unconditionally voting for whatever the alternative is, regardless of whether they have any policies. It's starting to look like two party systems really are now locked into a race to the bottom. I know I've posted it before, but I feel like this gets more relevant every year:

Pretty sure that Midas Touch is a right wing group so it's still the same people going low, the only difference being that at this point even they (some, at least) see how terrible Trump really is.

More importantly, Trump has a 55% disapproval rating. So really, more than half does not like Trump.

I'd say my country is coming around, but I've been let down before so I am not getting my hopes up haha.

Side note: most Republicans are Republican voters for life; Hitler could run for the GOP and they's still vote for him. Pol Pot could run and the Republicans would still be like "Yeah, but....what about her emails". Has nothing to do with "love".
