In my opinion, Metal Gear Solid fans such as myself, are the most diehard fans out there. I also find the games to be the most memorable and replayable video games available.
That's a tough choice between Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid, even though I voted for the latter, I think GT can also be considered as one of PS3's "flagship franchises" lol.
Gran Turismo is probably the highest selling franchise. I agree with that. Does that make it the flagship franchise? I guess you could argue it both ways.

Yep, but I think a better topic would be PlayStation's flagship franchise, because then it would be more interesting.

That is irrelevant, MGS2 was on the Xbox so it cannot be the flagship

I think you're mistaken. MGS3 was only on the PS2.
Microsoft has Halo. Nintendo has Zelda/Mario. Whats great about Sony is it has a good number of Flagship Franchises like the ones you mentioned +Killzone. Why can their only be one? (and if there is only 1, MGS)
Gran Turismo without a shadow of a doubt, I love the GOW and Metal Gear series but GT is the definitive flagship franchise and inconic as a PS game series, I mean its been with Playstation from the beginning and has sld over 50 million. BTW Metal Gear is not 1st party therefore it shouldnt be up there since its been on non-Sony platforms as well.

Well sales wise I have to say Grand Turismo. but personally Its tough Every choice spells out a must buy game.
I love both Gran Turismo and Metal Gear...I would have voted for them both if I could. They are in totally different genres so I think they could both be "flagship franchises" for the PS3.
I was thinking of putting Killzone on the list, but I didn't think it was THAT big (compared to the others at least) so I stuck it in the OTHER category.
And what's with all of the technicalities? As far as I'm concerned, the last bunch of MGS games were exclusive to the PlayStation platform. Until they port MGS3 and/or MGS4 to another platform, it's a PlayStation franchise is my book.
The sales say Gran Tourismo. Besides a flaghship franchise has to be exclusive to the its console. Metal Gear has been on the Xbox in some form. There it can not be THE flagship franchise.
I voted for Gran Turismo franchise, as it is the highest selling franchise for the Playstation brand, and always sells more consoles than any other game I have known Playstation to have. It is not my personal favorite out of the franchises you listed TC, but it's the top exclusive.
even though metal gear has appeared on other consoles, it is the main reason i bought a ps2 and the main reason i bought a ps3. so imo it's metal gear.
i would have to say MGS because first of all its one of the only exclusive games to get a perfect on this website (no matter if you think its biased) and just becuase its already been released. the game is flawless i just started to play through it again today as a fact.
