It is never to late to get a PS3. Metal Gear Solid 4 is an excellent first game. I have never played the on-line part. But played the storyline twice. I loved it. Even though the cut scenes can bequite long. I loved the story so I didn't mind. Plus I have played the other Metal Gear games so this completes/connects the MGS mythos very well.
Welcome to PS3 and Good LUCK with MGS4 on-line. (I don't know if on-line still works for MGS4) I never played this game on-line.
Yeah. Welcome to PS3, and ignore all the PS4 nonsense which is circulating. There are many games for you to play on PS3. Try the Uncharted series, they are brilliant.
Everyday is a good day to buy a PS3. And now many amazing games are really cheap. MGS4 is a great choice and the multiplayer is alive and well. Don't listen to people who everyday make stupid claimsabout this or that gamebeingdead or whatever. There are still online games running with Resistance Fall of Man and that was a release title. You'll find online games in older FIFA and NHL games as well, you just won't be part of the "I play the latest game" exquisite clubs. What does it matter if there are notagazillionsimultaneous players online if all you requrie is 24 players for a full game(for example).
You're just in time, especially considering that this fall is going to have a pretty large amount of releases which include games like Rage, King of Fighter XIII, Skyrim, Sonic Generations, etc.
Dude, you got plenty of time...Sony's track record shows that they support their previous-gen console for a loooooong time. Which is pretty smart on their part considering the heavy price tag that they put on thier new consoles
You are late. I am going to have to write you up. I don't want to do it but you leave me no choice. What has gotten into you lately? You are the last to arrive and the first to leave. Does this job mean nothing to you? The way the economy is right now it would be VERY EASY to fill your position with somebody more motivated. Very easy.
Infamous 1 & 2, Resistance 1-3, God of War 1,2,3, & Origins Collection, Dead Nation, Uncharted 1 & 2 are all must plays IMO. Do you have a 360? If not then the multi-plat games will keep you busy for the next few years. If you want reccomendations on those let me know.
Best thing about getting a ps3 now is that a lot of games that are really good are also really cheap. Though, I still buy ps2 games I missed out on so I don't really ever see a system as being dead.

Why does everyone always leave out the first two games when a 3rd one comes out? You can now get Resistance 1 & 2 in a combo pack if you look hard enough. Don't forget the God of War series. LBP 1, Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction and a Crack in Time. Heavy Rain, MAG, Demon's Souls. 2009 was the year the PS3 broke out of its shell. And I got mine in 2008 so no its never too late!
You know I only just got MGS4 (haven't played it yet) and Igot the PS3 when it was $600+ a number of years ago.
Man, there are some killer titles out now, and some gems on the way. So as long as you got the time to play the trillion games out now, then your set for good times.
