Will sony get lazy now that they are doing well again?

the ps2 was top console last gen even though the xbox was a better system. At the start of this gen sony were lazy and thought the xbox would fail again but microsoft tried hard and made a very good feature rich console (lets not talk about rrod) and as far as the big features go they simply didnt exist for playstation at the start. Sony has worked hard over the past few years to get the playstation 3 where it is now with all the great games and features and with the release of the ps3 slim (500k sales in 1 week) its fair to say its back on top again.

Now that they have got where they wanted to be do you think sony will get lazy? as in regular firmware updates with cool features (home, life with playstation etc.) will be the last we ever see for the ps3 or will they keep goin on with it to make the ps3 sell more than the ps2?

I think Sony will keep going strong and in the end do significantly better than the 360 does at the end of this generation, the playing field is level now and within the next few years Sony will have some brilliant announcements that will put them over the top, this does not mean 360 wont have nothing though, the 360 will keep up a great fight in the years leading to the new generation. Both consoles have their plusses now and both will have their plusses in the next few years but I think the Playstation will come out on top in the end.

From what I've been reading, it sounds like Sony is working even harder to bring out more exclusive games, so it's looking really good as far as I'm concerned.

I doubt it, they have had many problems since the start of this gen so it would be pretty foolish of them to go lazy now that things are finally looking up. If anything they ought to be more determined to do well with the PS3. With so many great exclusives for PS3 on the horizon it doesn't look like Sony will go down a gear any time soon.

It seems like Xbox has gotten lazy recently, so if Sony gets on top again the cycle will just continue until they destroy eachother and Apple comes out with their own console.

No, they just started doing great this one week. They need to keep this up a while for them to become overconfident.

Sony seems to be spreading out the news love(and game releases) instead of revealing all at once (exp at E3). There is still more supposed to be revealed at Tokyo Game Show too. So the seem to have a good pacing.

sony was never lazy. they believe in their products and try hard to boost sales/please customers. its pure business. and they won't 'get lazy'. theyll continue to make what they believe are the proper choices to sell more units.

Sony's up after being shot in the leg, but their not out of the woods yet.

They will keep everything going this gen because they are not in the lead yet and if they do get into the lead then they will still keep the customers happy. Thats Sony's thing, they take care of their customers, MS only released the 360 first because they cut off the xbox altogether whilst Sony kept the PS2 going and so they PS3 was released later.

I think if they were both released together then Sony would be in the lead at the moment

First things first, the PS2 raped the original xbox. Well the PS3 has way more potential to be greater than the 360 and obviously the the wii since it has better graphics and blu-ray. The PS3 has better exclusives in my opinion.The only thing it needs to do is make the online better.The PS3 needs a coupleexclusivegames with insane online play to beat the 360. The 360 has Halo and Gears of War which make everyone want a 360.I for one hate Galo but thought Gears of War 1 is the best online game of all time.I hate Gears 2 though like most of the Gears 1 fans. So the 360 is losing most of its best exclusiveonline games. I bought my Ps3 for single player games only. Like God ofWar 3, Resistance1+2, and hopefullya Kingdom Hearts3 in the future. I also bought it for Assassins Creed, Devil May Cry 4, and Tekken 6which were supposed to be exclusive to the PS3. The Ps3 has Killzone online and Resistance online, but neither of those games can compete with Halo or Gears. SoIm hoping the new games coming outlike MAG will help people to choose the PS3. And the new virtual reality thing shown at E3 could be the future of gaming. I know its a complete ripoff of the Wii but lets be honest here, the wii is really boring with its terrible graphics and bad games. The PS3 willbe able to do more things with the virtual reality thing.So all Sony needs to do is make thier online better, and get new games that can compete with the 360's.

Kind of a odd question. Sony don't really have anything to do with the devolpers. I think the devolpers that refused to make games for the PS3 where the true lazy ones. Because they didn't want to spend money for people who knew how to use new tech. Only way sony could get lazy/cheap would be with the online world. And even then it's up to gaming companies to really add to that.

I think both MS and Sony will be shifting their attention to the area of motion control/gaming (Natal Vs Sony thing), so yea, we might see less system improvments.

I think Sony will keep going strong, look at all good games coming out, good features like Home, new PS3 Slim and PSP Go. So I reckon at the end of this generation, PS3 will be a lot better than 360. But right now, PS3 is still leading actually.

thats one week , its to early , also its to late ,, for catchin the wii , seriously wii still has room to breath a few price cuts hardware revisions etc i dont see what sony can do now that they did all the above
