Why no KH3?

Can someone tell me why Square hasn't made Kingdom Hearts 3 yet? It is such a successful franchise that has so much room for a sequel on the PS3. It would sell so many copies and be so damn good. WHY!? Or does anyone know for a fact it is in development?

The team behind the series is developing Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Nomura (the producer and director) has stated that until they're done with FF Versus XIII they won't begin working on Kingdom Hearts III. Or so I believe.

After FFXIII Versus, they even said it will use a similar combat system as Versus.

god they should just scrap FFVXIII. Square really has dropped the ball this gen. They went from owning the PS1/PS2 to becoming an afterthough this time.

well i guess KH3 will come out on PS5 or something since they're working on ff versus 13 and we all know how long square takes to develop games and screw with release dates. i would definately like to see KH3 though its a great franchise especially for younger kids. and i thought KH2 was awesome much better than the 1st.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is a much-anticipated title and I can't wait for it to be announced, read previews, look at screenshots, watch demo videos, and just bask in the awesome glow. Kingdom Hearts 2 is an excellent game in my opinion (can't really understand how it could be viewed any other way).

SE would only ruin it...

Because SE decided to suck this gen and they rather release horrible NDS KHs (PSP was okay)

I have been waiting for KH3 for awhile now & I am jut hoping (HOPING!) that it will show up at this years TGS or next years.

Because they're still making lame spin-offs and hopefully realizing KH2 sucked.

Wait....WHAT?! KH2 was very well done & the last boss fight was epic! However, I respect your opinion.

it'll probably come in an equal amount of years as the same as VXIIIs dev...

so, if VXIII is released on:

2012- KH3-2018

2013-KH3- 2020

2014-KH3 2023

i.e never.

Yeah,I have no idea what you are talking about, Kingdom Hearts 2 was a very, very good game. If you go back and play it on the PS2, it still holds up today. Not to mention it's the longest game I've ever played, so it has a ton of content. Anyways, I hope this Versus game comes out soon because I really want some more KH. I've played all of the portable games, and I liked 358/2 Days alot and Birth By Sleep was pretty good too. The others were awful and just muddle the plot.

All of SE's resources are going into a 2016 release of Versus XIII. No new games until then.
