Why is little big planet so anticipated?

Why is this game just such a big hit? In my eyes it looks like a normal cellphone platformer. Dont flame me, just tell me why, i'm not saying its bad.

I don't know why... I think the psp and ps3 versions have a nice concept with creating levels but overall it looks like a terrible platformer.

I'd rather have good gameplay without customization than crappy gameplay with customization.

I was sucked in by hype on the ps3 version of the game and thought it looked like quite a good game. I played it and it was terrible. The user created levels were ok but they took years to load and lasted all of 2 minutes. The campagn shouldn't have existed at all and I never finished it. i tried my hand at the level editor and found it to be non user friendly.

The wealth of user created content is it's biggest strength. The possibilities are endless. The concept of personalization (be it levels, items, characters) is also wildly original.

The fact that the game never really ends is also a plus.

The platforming is platforming. You either like it or you don't. But for what it is, the reviews speak for themselves. Theres nothing quite like LBP, and having that in your pocket justifies the hype it's been receiving..

LBP is so anticipated for PSP because it was/is a success on PS3 and is already a classic. The characterphysic-based-movements and the unique and exquisite art makes this game a work of utmost importance in videogame history whose status is maintained by its strong community.

looks can be deceiving.

I just read that if you pre-Order LBP PSP than you get 6 costumes, from, Uncharted 2, Motor storm, and Killzone.

From Gamestop that is.
