Because the software creates an unexpected situation it doesn't know how to handle and since it doesn't know how to proceed from there it simply stops. Generally speakingBenderUnit22ok thanks. Lots of possible reasons. They include:
Overheating issues (fail switch protects hardware in computers by turning it off, ps3 might have something similar)
Dust issues (usually lead to heating issues)
Hardware failure (sometimes things just break. RAM ect)
Read Error (Hits a scratch on a disc and stutters (happened a lot on our ps2. luckily blu-rays don't seem to scratch as easily))
Bad programming (It's not always Sony's fault...)

last one is the most common. bad company freezes on me occasionally. But other games don't.Please Log In to post.
