On the 360 it installs the entire disk, there usually about 6GB's or so. With the PS3 some are only like a couple hundred MB's.I'm just wondering why it even installs anything at all? Is it maybe just a security thing?

The PS3 is too slow to read off the disc and have some games play properly
So they install certain parts of the game (various sizes some even consisting of a way to get to and from loading screens) to solve that problem
If the PS3 was faster it wouldn't even need those installs, but it is so we have them
it dont install the entire game, just parts of it because blu-ray drive isnt as fast as dvd therfore its ther to shorten load times
what? bioshock was 5gb, res5 was 5gb and gta was 3gb ps3 has horrible installs.Javieralijandroright now MGS4 game data is over 6GB(alot of updates). DMC4 was under 5GB but i should erase it just to clear up space. SF4 was an optional 2GB. MLB 09 was under 3GB but the load times were still long.
Lol the installs are already big enough, MGS4 and DMC4 are 6 and 5 gigs. Through this is done to compensate for ps3's slow blue-ray speed. I upgraded to a 250gig HD so wouldn't have to worry about space and games load way faster then without install.
