Safe to say next weekend is sorted out for me. Infamous SS Day 1.

I ain't got a PS4 but I guess that's gonna be the console's best game so far.Lucky those who can play it day one.

I've noticed today a lot of people are already live streaming the game on PS4. Did they get early releases?

some stores sell the game as soon as the shipment comes (stores such as the mom and pop stores) or they risked getting their buddy fired to get the game early. as for the original question, yes i pre-ordered through the gamestop website and chose one day shipping so i should get it on release day. i never played the first 2 infamous games so second son will be the first infamous game for me. the first 2 didn't interest me but second son looks really good.

I'm excited for it and everything. I just don't have a PS4 yet. I think this game will really be the tipping point of me deciding to buy a PS4 fairly soon. Hell, I'd be going crazy right now if this was a launch game.

I've been on media lockdown for this game for over a year. Beautiful next-gen touches aside, it's the gameplay that makes Infamous such a great franchise. It's just damn fun! Suckerpunch gets what makes having superpowers fun. This series and the Arkham games are the best superhero games going. Crossing my fingers and hoping their storytelling has improved(hopefully they've learned a thing or two from Naughty Dog). Don't get me wrong, the first three stories were fun but there was room for improvements.

Good thing MGS V will get here Tues., as it makes waiting for Friday much easier . . . can't wait!

Infamous Second Son truly looks to be the first next gen game for PS4. Ryse was pretty much leading the next gen but Infamous will take that lead. Move over Ryse.

i would get if it had cole in it. it das't feel the same as infamous 1 and 2 i think they should of keep cole in it and follow on with the as cole the main charater

I didn't pay too much attention to it before, but after a bit of research at the weekend I've decided to pre-order. Looks fun, lot of hype around it though, really hope it lives up to it. Can finally blow the dust off my ps4! :D

Pre-Order it for the sake of it being a Sony Exclusive as thats my goal this gen to have every Retail Exclusive there is, never played the second and only played half of the first because i got bored but i did enjoy the first game of what i played, so i'm giving this a shot, i'm not sold on the main character but story looks solid and gameplay does look like it's the same but we will see, heard mix reveiws and honestly aren't we meant to get reviews to sell us on the game or not and these silly embargo's pushing the reviews right until the last minute it's mental.

Its all a bad sign when they review the game right before the game comes out.

Yes I'd be in agreement but it seems that's the way of gaming at the moment, I mean this whole embargo rubbish has been going on for years but it's only the past i'd say 6months anyone even bothered or on here even thinks they know what there talking about and now this is front page news on gaming sites which is crazy, but it looks like this is the gen we get the reviews of games the day before it comes out or even after it gets released. i've heard mixed feelings on it but hey It's infamous if you didn't like the first 2 then my guess is that this will be the same.

i will definitly buy it , im waiting for them to announce the a ps4 Infamous: Second Son Bundle, or maybe i'll wait untill watch dogs so i can them both :))

The reviews are out and are mostly positive. 80 average on Metacritic ATM. Next-gen games have been given a tight "curve" when scored for some reason as if somehow just because there's more memory to code with it's going to instantly expand creativity. Launch-window games have gotten notoriously lower scores as they are usually victims of unrealistic expectations and the sting of reviewers who still have stickershock from the new machines.

One comment that seems to be universal(whether written to praise or denigrate), it's more Infamous. Those who enjoyed themselves say it's the best in the franchise and that's all I need to see as I've loved every entry of the series which means I'll love this one as well. Can't wait until tomorrow!

I agree with this. I think it is quite a good thing that reviewers are looking at this current gen with a little more scrutiny. With the new consoles pumping out incredible visuals it would be too easy to just throw 9s and 10s around like candy (see MGS4 on PS3 as an example).

I quite like that fact that developers now know that they need to work hard for that critical acclaim... or bring out a bro shooter... or be Naughty Dog.

8/10 gamespot 8.7 ign. Safe to say this game is what we expected.

I'm not asking reviewers to give great scores away but I do ask that they not hold it against a launch-window game if it's not re-inventing the wheel. This battle cry for innovation is unrealistic. The Infamous series has a good formula that includes great powers and environments to let them shine, if this game provides that better than the other 3 entries and is drop-dead-gorgeous Ta boot, why then the poorer scores? This whole "more of the same" and "lacks innovation" mentality is missing the point. Hell, one reviewer was outraged because Infamous' open world didn't outdo GTAV's because a next gen open world game should be able to at least give what GTAV squeezed out of lastgen. Apples to oranges I say.

Also, MGS 4 seems to be the whipping-boy title these days when high scores get ridiculed but that game had more memorable moments in it than most last gen titles. Cutscenes be damned.

I admit that reading a few reviews does give some unjust criticism to InFamous:SS. I Think CVG called it "last gen thrills" which is wholly inaccurate. I do however want reviewers to judge these new games as standalone works, not just to compare them to last gen in terms of graphics etc... Innovation is vitally important as we enter gen 8 as if the best developers cannot move with the times then games like Titanfall (a multi-player only bro shooter) will become the benchmark which other developers to aspire to, and we all don't want that to happen do we?

Also in my personal opinion MGS4 was incredibly overhyped. Admittedly, despite owning it, I've only tried to play through it twice and both time the cut scenes got the better of me. Although I'm probably not the greatest judge as I'm not a fan of stealth game play.
