Okay, sorry if this is old news (the article is four days old), but apparently Fat Princess is already getting stepping on some toes with feminists. I honestly didn't think this would happen THIS soon, although I still don't know why.

What are your thoughts on this whole thing? Are these people just overreacting to a game (well, when HAVEN'T people overreacted to a game before? Manhunt anyone?) or do you think they're just trying to make a fuss for some attention?

Before the flames start flaring, I would like to note I'm not against feminism in anyone and this topic caught my eye before I was about to play some games on yahoo and I wanted to see what others thought about it. I also find it very interesting that women are getting POed at Sony, considering (this was at the end of the article) a female made the concept art for the entire game.

I think they are trying to start a battle where there isn't even a war.

I would almost definitely be against a game if it was demeaning to women or degraded them or whatever. But its a game where you simply get a girl fat, while the other team tries to rescue her. Its not that bad. You aren't torturing her, killing her, and I really don't think the developers did it just to be demeaning.

If anything it should show that games have matured enough that they feel comfortable in places a woman character who can become obese.

You have to think about it, GAMERS werent really the ones throwing a fit. Just overweight women (yea some are gamers sure)who heard of the game and just thought it was mocking and poking fun at them, which I don't think it is.

I have more to say but screw it, what is it gonna do.
