What made you buy PS3?And what did you do to get it?

Well...I bought ps1 and loved it,then i bought Ps2 and loved it. So Playstation brand is strong for me.

Metal Gear solid is second big reason,third is I dont like xbox games,and fourth is I love rpg:s so at Ps1 and Ps2 there were so meny great rpg:s so i thought ps3 will continue..Well gotta wait few years for Final Fantasy..

Loved the two previous incarnations. Didn't see why the PS3 wouldn't follow suit. I worked and put aside some money every month. I then went to the store and gave them said money with the stipulation that they then give me a 60 gb PS3.

Ah the barter system. Little slips of cotton for something that entertains me.

Reasons?
Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid. Other reasons? White Knight Story, Lair, Devil May Cry, Soul Calibur and Resident Evil.

I could care less about the other features, and Ive never claimed that PS3 was better than x system because of what it had inside. I love it because of the games it has and will have.

What I did? I worked in a telemarketing company for 2 1/2 months, (here the PS3 is 950 dollars) and I bought it with Resistance and 1 extra controller (more or less 1180 dollars).

I have loved every second of it, except for some lousy demos :P.

Ive recently also bought a nice PC, so I can play most games this gen. I will get a Wii later on this gen, but right now its not what Im looking for. As for the 360, had one, but I dont want it anymore, though it is going to have some games that I will die for.

MGS4 and Final Fantasy XIII.

my 360 toasted without giving me 3 rings of death, so microsoft basically told me to eff off, and instead of paying for the repair i traded all my games to get ps3. the fact that its so hastle free aswell,kreestoph

I bought my PS3 because I owned a PS2 and my brother had a PS1. Both consoles were great and were a lot of fun. I actually started off as a pure Nintendo player until I went from N64 to PS2 somewhere in 2001. I paid top dollar for the PS2 then and I paid top dollar for my PS3... which happened to gain $100 back in my pocket in about a weeks time when E3 happened. I love you Sony.

i traded my Xbox360 Elite in for a used 40 gig and am wayy happier with it than my Xbox360

Mainly for Final Fantasy.

I gave up smoking.

All my friends own a PS3, and it's great playing with them online. The MGS and FF series are two of my favourites, so that's a good enough reason in itself. Plus I wasn't really enjoying my other consoles. Now the 'other' consoles are just there for their exclusives, and my PS3 is for everything else.

I got it by borrowing £350 from my family, which I should be able to pay off by Xmas.

i really liked those neighbours aswell but it was all worth it for my sweet black box.

I got it because it wasn't the 360 and it seems like it would have a longer "life" than the Wii

I got by asking my parents for it for Christmas

I got it because of the backwards compatability.

I missed out on alot of great ps2 games because I had the xbox.

I also wanted to experience the great games that has came out and coming out

So i begged my mom and she got me the ps3 on christmas

my big bro and I already had a 360, So i wanted a ps3 when it came out, I was like 11 yaers old at the time. and i got the 20gig on my Bday ( because im spoiled like that :) ) ,but only later to find out that my brother got the 60gig a year later and move with OUR 360 to his new house. now im left only a 20gig.
