Star Ocean and Crisis Core get pretty good numbers.

I would say Crisis Core, even better than the original FF VII. If you like a slower pace and a little more thought, try FF Tactics, The War of the Lions. It's a remake, but it's beautifully done and the cut scenes alone are worth it.

Star Ocean looks to be good, but I've not tried it.

Tales Of Eternia hands down. It was only release for PSP in EU and JP. But importing shouldn't be a problem ... region free! Its got a good story, amazing battle system and lovely 2-D sprites.

Crisis Core was fun, but rewatching cutscenes everytime you die gets old, and the combat becomes repetitive after a while. If you're into that sort of thing, you should definitely give that game a try.

My current favourite is Star Ocean, though I've yet to play very many on the PSP. I'm trying FF Tactics, but it's a little too hardcore for tastes. If you're a newcomer, stay away from that one.

Yeah, I agree with that statement. FFT does have alot of complex, hardcore elements to it, so it might not be the best choice for the first timer. I still finding new things in that game to this day.

That would be Crisis Core for me. Although Star Ocean is really good as well. Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness is the best strategy RPG IMO.

I never gave a solid response. For best jrpg, If we want to count FFT as a strategy game, I would have to say Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition is my favoite. I remember recieving the original as a Birthday gift back in 93'.

This, one hell of a game ;).

Take the word of an RPG aficionado, Crisis Core is not all its cracked up to be. Its overrated, easy and pretty repetitive. Its OK, not amazing.
