What game(s) should I buy?! - Great campaign?

Basically...

I'm looking for a game which has a great story-line which will take me a fairly long time to complete!! I don't usually have a lot of time to read up on the latest games released and what's available so I don't really know what's brilliant, old or new! I've played games like Dying Light, Uncharted and Last Of Us and loved them all. I recently bought RE7 but honestly didn't enjoy it at all... Also something that enables you to upgrade weapons and give you something to make you better if you get me

I usually am a Madden 17, GTA, COD kind of gamer but I want to play something different!

Any suggestions would be be brilliant!!!

I enjoyed many of the Assassins Creed games, Far Cry 4 is awesome as well as Dishonored The Definitive Edition and the new Dishonored 2. Also, Tomb Raider The Definitive Edition and the new Rise of the Timb Raider are superb.

Yakuza 0 takes a while to complete, and it has a great story.

If you can get into Anime-style games, the recent Tales or Berseria is fantastic. It has one of the strongest start I have ever seen in a JRPGs and the addicting gameplay makes sure you enjoy the fights between the story as well.
