to put it simply, i'm tired of my 360 dying on me. i'm still sticking with the 360 because of Mass Effect, but the whole thing has made me curious: how good is the ps3, really? how satisfied are people with it, in general? if something unexpected (and bad)comes up with my 360 repair (it sounds unlikely, but"something unexpected (and bad)" is pretty much the story of my life lol) i'd seriously consider trading in all of my 360 games towards a cheap 40g ps3. so what do you guys and girls think or your ps3s? and how reliable is it?
PS3 is quite reliable. Personally I think its just crap the way some of my friends have gone through like 3 360s. I never went through 3 NES'!
The PS3 has a similar HD experiance plus gaining a Blu-ray player out of the box. Little warrning though, the network is a fair bit smaller than the 360's (at the moment) but is still solid. Also its USB keyboard/mouse compatable, and there are games like UT3 coming out to utilize this.
I like the PS3, but you also get good backwards compatability with PS & PS2 games too. So Snap!
Also I hope to be getting BWii soon... maybe Christmas.
lol yeah I just got my 40 gig this saturday and it came with two controllers so i thought it was a good deal. On the whole i am alot more impressed by it, when you start it up it just seems like a classier machine, its the only way I can describe it, the PSN seems fine too I don'thave apersonally but my friend w/ a 360 w/ high speed internet said it takes him hours to download demos but it takes me about 20-30 mins at the most, havent played anything online yet so thats all but so far I love it! I just cant decide what game to get first though..
I personally love my ps3 and have been enjoying it in its first year much more than when I got my ps2. People may talk trash about the ps3s library but I have had loads of games to play. The online experience is also great. The ps3 is a rock in terms of reliability. There is no shame in owning a ps3 especially with 08's lineup.
PS3 is great imo...i admit it's off to a slow start but all console's have a slow first year..the ps3 is really picking up atm and the machine itself is solid.
I remember all my mates got 360 last christmas or before and i was saying na..ill just wait and get the ps3 on release...all those mates are getting ps3 this year :D
I chose the first option, even though I don't play R&C. I really love my PS3. One great bonus is that it doesn't crap out constantly, like the 360. I have had no problems with it. I love all the features. Built in Bluray, built in Wi-Fi, etc. Online play is very smooth and nice, especially with titals likeWarhawk out there. Iyou keep having problems with your 360 (likely)just say "To he11 with it," and get aPS3. Only get a 40gig if you don't care about backwards compatability, USB slots, or memory slots. Otherwise get a 60gig. They're the best, despite the fact that there is an 80gig. Those don'thave as much backwards compatability, USB or memory (?) as the 60s.
yeah, honestly i agree with the whole "classier machine" thing from what i've seen. how many people are online in games like Warhawk orResistance? not looking for extremely specific numbers or anything, but: a lot, enough, or a little?
online? well itis getting there not to many exxclusives have any thing more than story mode, butpsn isjust as good as live and its free so its better
mine has crashed many times mostly during multiplats it saves every 5seconds so its ok.
+ one big thing is with all new exclusives dont have load screens.... at all which is great

the only games that froze more than once is Oblivian and warhawk other than that its only happend after 10 hours of straight play which is something i do alot

I've been happy with my purchase(though I should have waited for the price to come down, but oh well) and have used the system for more than just PS3 games. I like the B/C for the PS2 and the 5 PS1 games I have. I like being able to stream music/pics/videos from WMP11 and that the songs don't periodically skip like they do with my 360. The DVD/BR playback has been great and I now use my PS3as my primary player for movies. So far its been a great system and I'm looking forward to see how Home shapes up once it's released

dude..ps3 forum!? regardless..it's a matter of fact no matter what statistics state..
well i called xbox customer support today and they said that it will take at least a month to get the console fixed (maybe more because christmas holidaycould interfere.) i would definately like a PS3 right now, but idk if my dad would go along

I love my PS3, got a 20GB in Nov of '06, upgraded to a 120GB hard-drive earlier this year, and I just love it. The features, the online gaming, the games, the fact that it has a blu-ray player built in, it's just awesome in my opinion. I've enjoyed it much more in the first year of owning it than I did with the first year of my 360. That speaks loudly for its future, I think in 5 years time, the PS3 will be on top again.
