Not at all...MGS2 appeared on Xbox, PS2 continued to rule. FFXI appeared on Xbox, PS2 continued to rule...do you see the pattern ? Well, yes, if they somehow became exclusive to Xbox, i'd say Sony would be in trouble, but as long as they are on PS3 (exclusive or not) where the fanbase is, i wouldn't worry too much about these game's or PS3's succes.

if FFXIII/MGS4 are lost.......which is very, very unlikely.....then other games will take their place. GOW3, GT5, Dark cloud 3, rouge galaxy 2, new twisted metal, new socom, new syphon filter, new jak and daxter, new team ico game, new sly cooper, new legend of dragoon, new siren, tekken 6, white knight story, lair, heavenly sword, littlebigplanet....and alot more.

360 fanboys are stupid if they think those 2 games are going to go to the 360.

While I do think that losing those two (especially Final Fantasy) would have a massive impact on overall sales, I would like to mention the following:

-Back when Sony was busy showing off tech demos of "The Getaway", not that many people were thinking about the then unannounced titles such as God of War, Grand Theft Auto 3, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Devil May Cry, Socom, etc.

PS3 needs MGS4 and FFXIII. Why? Because unlike all the other exclusives, these games have a wider audience who are willing to spend money to play the game.

I don't believe MGS4 or FFXIII will be on 360 at launch. I can't think of any Square Enix game that has been multiplatform day one. I wouldn't be surpirsed if 360 owners got a FFXIII game, but not the FFXIII.

As for MGS4. I can see that happening. Although, with Kojima wanting a 50GB BD for MGS4, it might be the first multidisc game for 360.

But ultimatly, PS3 to succed needs these two games. Both do really well in America, and really, the US seems to be the one place PS3 isn't solidly in.

PS2 continued to rule on those games because the PS2 was more popular than the original XBOX. But the tables have turned and the 360 now has a very strong user base (and yes that would be partly due to it's head start) and is now a serious contender for stealing away some exclusive titles.

Exclusivity is good for the makers of the consoles they appear on, but developers would benefit more from making it cross platform and extending their user base greatly. Although I don't think MGS would become 360 exclusive, it would be more likely for the PS3 to have it realeased first then on the 360.
