Do all US PS3s still at this point have full BC with PS2 and PS1 games?

Yes, but that will change once the 80 gig hits shelves with the emulator in place of the Emotion Engine. So, go pick up your newly price-slashed 60 gig badboy and enjoy your entire back catalogue.

There are a few small problems with a few games (saving in Jak X messes up all the time) but for the most part it's perfect backwards compatibility.

60gb PS3 -- 99% BC
80gb PS3 -- 90% BC

Don't worry BC via emulation if fine ...

So how long will the 60GBs being produced have the EE in them? I don't have one yet and I really want to play Persona 3 on one no problem.

The last time I checked, the backwards compatability for the PS3 still needs tinkering in some area's. (I would know, I own a 60GB Model) With most of my PS1 games, the graphics are choppy and the sound effects go haywire. I'm hoping they'll fix the issue with PS1 games with an update, but I doubt that'll happen anytime soon. Unless there has been an update that's fixed my issue then someone please correct me, but as far as I know, the backwards compatability for the PS3 isn't in full swing yet.

Good question... don't know what happened there. It was supposed to say something along the lines of "I would sell it if I could get a hundred bucks for the thing, but I guess it depends on your emotional attachment to the last generation."

The only PS1 games I've run on mine are MGS and Jeopardy (Don't. Ask.) and they both worked perfectly fine. Small sample size, obviously, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents. Oh, and FYI: I don't recommend spending 45 minutes with your girlfriend taking the Jeopardy qualification quiz on a late work night... they don't give you the effing answers!!!

Oh I already have a PS3-from April-I was asking this because I needed to decide to exchange it or send it in for repairs since my AV port was messed up-and that was my deciding factor. The PS2 money is going towards a 360. I want all three consoles (I already have Wii and PS3). Im asking cause ive heard talks of later PS3s not having the EE in it.
