Update 3.01 Bricked my ps3!

Please help! What do I do guys? I have a first gen 60gb PS3, UK. Was eager to play CoD this morning so booted up my PS3 and was told to install an update, fair enough, after that I loaded up Modern Warfare 2, played about an hour then my PS3 crashed, assumed it was a problem with CoD as I had problems like this when FIFA 08 was first released before a patch, but then after that it did it again about 20 minutes later and has been totally unusable since.

Please help me! :( This is potentially the worst day of my life...

I had a similiar situation I put COD in told me that my version was 3.00 and needed 3.01 so I did and quess what.....it did not brick my system:|

If you managed to play for an hour, it probably wasn't the update the broke your PS3.

yeah, when I got my cod mw2 I had to update to 3.01. I was pretty worried but I did it and so far so good. I hope no one else gets bricked.

I'm glad I don't have a 60gb, those seem to be the onlyones getting bricked by firmware (3.01).
