I'm confused. Are you asking if it's worth dishing out the extra money on a 1080p TV to play video games on? If so the answer is: don't bother. Most PS3 games are 720.

Games might be 720P but Blu-Ray movies aren't.
Be that as it may the TC specifically asked for videogames.
yes there is a huge difference but u need a big tv before u notice the difference.

You're half right.
The difference between 720p and 1080p is always noticeable. You just have to be sitting close enough OR have a big enough screen (while still sitting close enough) to see the difference. My 24" 1080p LED monitor still looks a lot better than any 32" 720p LCD HDTVs I've seen.
I don't feel like it's a huge upgrade if you go from a 720p to a 1080p, I have a 720 TV and I think the picture looks amazing.Sweetbackhair
720p is 1280x720. That's 921,600 pixels.
1080p is 1920x1080. That's 2,073,600 pixels. That's over twice the resolution.
I'm not sure if you consider over twice as detailed a "huge upgrade", but it is to me. Also, if you just this off of console games, then of course it won't make a difference. Most of them are 720p or upscaled to 720p or 1080p from a lower native resolution. If you play a PC game at 720p and then re-render it at 1080p or if you watch a Blu-Ray on a 720p HDTV right next to one playing the same movie on a 1080p HDTV, you'll see a noticeable difference.
As the first post says. The most games only go on 720p. Only game I have played that roll on 1080p is Clive Barkers - Jericho. And the diffrence isn´t that much to talk about.. But with the prices on TVs these days the best for you is to dish out some extra cash on a 1080p tv.
Good luck!
